Ramdeobaba Engineering College is one of the top engineering colleges in Nagpur. If you are from Nagpur then you will be aware of its reputation for high placements. The admission process is a little hectic and strict; all the admissions are done according to the merit list. The college provides both undergraduate programs and post-graduate programs but it is best known for its former program. It can be a little overwhelming in the beginning Since you have to go through several processes for Library cards, Id cards, Email accounts, etc. The atmosphere of the college is quite active and energetic; you will always find them doing something creative.

Academics are tough where you have to focus on theory, practicals, assignments, and projects. I belonged to the electronics and communication stream where I was in batch 2. The college follows two batch system which is decided through a merit list. The classes of batch 1 are held in the morning from 7:30am am till 1:00 and batch 2 classes start from 12:00 till 5 pm. Most people prefer morning classes since you get free from your studies in the afternoon. Overall academics are good.

All departments have their respected HODs (head of departments). Most of the HODs had 25 + years of experience in teaching with good industrial knowledge. The faculties also possess excellent practical knowledge and provide insightful lectures that help students to get a good idea of industrial operations. The faculties make sure that students are getting better insights into the subjects but if you find it difficult sometimes, you can always ask them your doubts. In my batch students never hesitated to ask their doubts and faculties made sure that the doubts are addressed clearly.

As I have already told you, Ramdeobaba is known for its spectacular placements. The placement record for the last 10 years is more than 80%. If we talk about the current batch of 2022 placements records, The mass recruiter companies for campus drives include famous names such as Cognizant, Accenture, Wipro, Persistent, Capgemini, IBM, L&T Infotech, TCS, DXC, Ernst and Young, L&T Technology, etc.

The campus hostel facility is optional; if you want you can opt for it with additional charges. I didn’t live in a campus hostel but I have seen it and heard from my friends about it. My friend used to live with two roommates, the hostel was pretty decent and clean. The food provided was also good. The boy's hostel is inside the campus itself whereas the girl's hostel is outside the campus within a walking distance. Wardens are there who takes care of everything for the students.

The campus is really big and spacious. We have different buildings for different departments and parking lots. Apart from buildings, there are also playgrounds, computer labs, an auditorium, and a big central library. Other facilities include ATM, Stationery shop, Canteens, and other food outlets. The canteen food is really affordable and good in taste. Most students prefer to eat in the college canteen. If I talk about cleanliness, the buildings, roads are well maintained and clean.

Campus life was all about studies, fun, and exploring new dimensions of industrial operations. The college has many clubs like drama club, dance club, music club, Rotaract club, robotics club, embedded club, photography club, code breakers club, etc. To keep students active and energetic throughout the program. Apart from studies, the college is very active in building different committees to protect the student interest. The different committees and cells include Anti Ragging Committee, Women empowerment cell, Admission committee, hostel advisory committee, equal opportunity cell, etc. It might be overwhelming in beginning but it is worth it. The faculties and students are supportive and will help you in your journey. So, Go Ahead!
