My Personal Thoughts over University of Burdwan

Overall Rating
My overall experience in this university was average. I chose this university because of its government university. Infrastructure of this university is very old and needs refurbishment. Library is also very average one with around 5000 books. There are no clubs except for one coding club. There is one playground which is again of decent size where you can play games like cricket, football etc. There are Four hostels, one for girls and three for boys which are value for money at the fees they are charging.
 

Academics Rating
I am enrolled in the department of Electrical Engineering. The entry requirement is that one you must have a good rank in WBJEE and passed your 12th or you have completed your diploma. For diploma holders there is different exam known as JELET, by qualifying one can get admission in second year of preferred department.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members in my course are quite knowledgeable and helpful guiding you at every point but at the same time they are strict. Most of them have completed their PhD from reputed educational bodies like Jadavpur University, NIT Durgapur and University of Kalyani. Their style of teaching is simple.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, there is a placement cell in my university with a dedicated training and placement officer. The TPSO contacts the hiring team of the companies and then sends to the placement group from where eligible candidates can apply.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Campus's external infrastructure is good but this is not the case for the internal part also. classroom's are in very bad condition with broken Desk's and old blackboards. Fan's and light's are not all in good condition's and AC's are only Available for Final year which also doesn't work. Lab's are not that bad with all the latest Equipments available. Amenities include fresh Drinking Water and Two Lifts for going up and Down in the Building. all the departments are in the same Building including lab's and classroom.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus life is pretty average here but best for the studious students.
