UCMS is known for its academics and good research work. There are dedicated 19 departments for every subject of MBBS course. Each department has good number of faculties, labs and museum. There is research work is going- on over several topics in each department. This college is among top 10 medical colleges in India based on various surveys.

MBBS course is of 5.5-year duration with 1-year compulsory internship (included). To get admission, one has to score good rank in NEET UG exam held annually by National Medical Council. Counseling process and merit list is created according to rank and is conducted by Medical Counseling Committee (MCC). One can appear in NEET UG after giving intermediate exam. Minimum age should be 17 years in December of admission year. After completing course of MBBS, one can set up his/her own clinic or work in hospital with average salary of about ₹ 60000-100000.

Faculties here are top notch. Many professors are among leading authors of well-known medical books. They are student friendly and provide good environment for studies. They give proper clinical experience to students, which help them become good clinician in future. They are well qualified with minimum MS/MD degree and experience of at least 10 years.

There is no such thing as a placement after completion of MBBS course. Generally there are two choices. One can opt to go for further studies, i.e., Post-graduation (MD/MS) in India, USMLE for USA Residency, and PLAB for UK Residency. Other option is to serve in hospital as junior resident where one can get salary of around one lakh per month or one can open his or her own clinic.

Yes, there is separate hostel for boys and girls. A major pro is that one gets a separate single room from the very first day. Hostel room is spacious with one bed, table, chair, and almirah. Toilets and washrooms are cleaned daily and there is 1 toiletry per 5 students. There is cricket ground, volleyball court, basketball court with turf, badminton court, table tennis, chess, carom are available. There is GYM with adequate basic equipment. Mess provides hygienic food. Taste may not be great but good to go. Three meals with evening tea are provided in mess. Hostel fee is ₹6000 per month and Mess fee is ₹2500 per month.

College campus is spread in space of 90 acres with lot of green plants providing fresh air in polluted environment. It has 4 lecture halls with capacity of 200 students each and each of them is fully air-conditioned. Labs and demonstration rooms are well equipped with advanced equipment required. Each department has its own lab, demonstration rooms, museum, and library. There is main central library with books of wide range from various medical fields. College has its own e-library app too with free access given to each student. This app has publications, journals, and books of many international publishers and authors. College building is overall spacious and GTB hospital serves as teaching hospital. There is overall good clinical exposure for the students. There is a college canteen too, which provides good food at reasonable rate.

Campus life is filled with lot of fun activities in UCMS. ‘Ripple’ is an annual inter-college fest held annually (during March or April). It comprises of events like prom night, star night, band night, gala dinner, fashion shows, literary events, quizzes, drama events, and lot more. ‘Avalanche’ is intra-college fest held annually in winters. There are many societies/ clubs, which can be joined easily by students based on their interests, for e.g., Anaya (Fashion Society), Manchayan (Drama Club), Lit Soc (Literary Society), Parwaaz (Poetic Club), and Renaissance (Dance Society). There are good cafes like Xerox Degress, Meltado, Baking Brew, and good places like Haldiram and Keventers market to hang out in nearby areas of college.
