Amity University B.A Review By Kritika Chhetri

My overall experience in Amity has been fruitful. The campus has an amazing library of 2-3 floors and access to multiple computers with varied resources available. The campus is huge and has buildings allotted to different courses. The Psychology course of Amity, Noida is well created. This was one of my prime reasons to join this college. Other than that, I have met amazing people who are doing well as some have jobs and some are pursuing higher studies.

Students have taken admission despite not having Psychology as their 12th subject. During our time, we had online interview for admission, which is very basic. Syllabus covers topic that are essential for every Psychology major student. We had the options of choosing electives (Organizational, Life span, etc.) right from the 1st year. We even had interesting courses like Criminal Psychology, Gerontology, Consciousness- a Psychological Perspective, etc.

The faculty members are well versed with their topics. Most of the senior teachers have PhD and are good at teaching. They help with understanding the exam pattern. The teaching style differs from teachers to teachers. Even though some teachers are strict at times, they are supportive when reached out to.

Amity University does have a placement cell but I have personally not taken benefit of the cell as I decided to continue my higher studies.

I have not stayed in the hostel but it is quite strict though safe. There are biometrics right outside the hostel and the gate closes soon.

The entry of students is done through biometric face scan and checking of ID cards. The face scan is linked to your attendance. If you enter after the class timing (suppose class starts at 9:15 am and you punch in at 9:30) , the teachers won’t be able to mark your attendance as you'd have exceeded the time-frame. Each campus has a lift though its only for sick, disabled, elderly and teachers. There is a newly installed a coffee machine in C block of Psychology. Block A, B, and C is for Psychology students. There is a huge garden where you can chill during breaks and play badminton during winters.

The campus life is beautiful to say the least. The fests are well known. There is Amity Youth Fest, which has crowd from different colleges. During this week, the campus is full of life. It also celebrates festivals like Onam, Pongal, Christmas, Janmashtmi, and other such festival so one feels at home. There are performances going on until late evening followed by DJ session in some occasions. Amity also hosts celebrities and famous singers & rappers (We had Raftaar for AYF 2024). There are many clubs at university and institute level that one can be a part off. The examination schedule is dropped about 2 weeks ago that also gets stressful.
