A Very Good Mix of Studies & Fun

Overall Rating
Sir Sitaram and Lady Shantabai Patkar College is an institute for Actuarial Science and Quantitative Finance. There are not many colleges out there, which provide you with these courses, as they are very niche. Being it in Andheri, Mumbai it is growing very fast too. It has a very good faculty. It provides many opportunities for students to shine outside college. The student to faculty ratio is also good.
 

Academics Rating
The course is Actuarial Science and Quantitative Finance. The entry requirements are 12th pass with good grades and give either QAT or ACET exam. Then you would have a personal interview to be selected. IAQS provides upto 6 IFOA exemptions (terms and conditions applied ) for Bachelors. Exemption provided are CS1, CS2 , CB1, CB2, CM1, and CM2, which is great as compared to other institutions.
 

Faculty Rating
All the faculty members are very good. Most of them are industry-working professionals. They also provide their insights and teach us from their experience. Projects mostly include practical working scenarios and professors are more than happy to help when they know a student is doing something unique. They are helpful in external projects too.
 

Placement Rating
The placement cell is very resourceful. It helps student in getting internship and job placements too. We have had companies like Milliman, Marsh-McLennan Global Services, and Deloitte for internship.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Although, the campus is not very big. All the rooms are air-conditioned . We have LMS where you can watch recorded lectures. Library has enough books and journals. You have an option of attending lectures online. Though, it is only in the case of emergency, which is pretty good facility from my point of view.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is mostly good. Sometime, it becomes tiring during end of semester but is pretty decent. People are very innovative and have out of the box-thinking crowd. Seniors are very helpful. Club activities include cricket, football, and badminton tournaments, which are conducted by various committees. There are events regarding academics also, which are very fun.
