Life at IIM sambalpur

Overall Rating
Firstly coming to the college Infrastructure, It is really good and aesthetic which represents the Sambalpuri culture on the walls of the building. Coming to the hostel we have single sharing rooms with AC, study table and chair. The faculty teach well and we get great insights. We have guest lectures that are organized regularly. The placements are not up to the mark but the insight and knowledge you get from this college is the value adding element.
 

Academics Rating
Currently I am studying MBA in IIM Sambalpur and I am in my second term. According to my experience in my first semester, the subjects that were taught by all lecturers were very useful and have given a very great insight. So according to me the lectures are very effective. The guest lectures organized are also amazing.
 

Faculty Rating
Our faculties are very well educated. All are Ph.D holders. They teach very well but I would like to say that the economics and finance faculty is just average and they can improve their teaching skills. The marketing facilities are great. I am in my second term so I don't know about all the professors but till now we have received good teachers for business communication and marketing.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, we have a placement cell in which our placement committees organize a lot of activities like guest lectures, test series, mock interviews, etc. All the activities organized prepare the students for placement interview. The placement committee works day and night to get us placed. More than 36 companies have visited the campus till now.
 

Hostel Rating
I would say our hostels are the most equipped one among all and that is because we have air conditioners in each room. We have separate study table, etc. The patters of lights are also different. We have three kinds of lights in the room and corridor. Some of the lights have sensor in them so I would say our hostel facilities are really good.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Because our campus is just 2 years old or maybe less than that. The campus is spread in the area of approximately 200 acres. We have greenery all over the campus. The classroom in the campus are high-tech and are equipped with 6 white boards, two projectors, one screen as well as mic fitted in the ceiling. Our academic area has glass doors that are operated by sensors. It's a great campus.
 

Campus Rating
The campuses are really great as I have said its great but there is no campus life as such. As Sambhalpur is a rural area there are no clubs or parties arranged in neither the campus nor there are any such things in the neighborhood. Sambhalpur is very peaceful and it does not have any hotels or pubs.

    Overall good experience at college. Faculty is good. Campus is really pretty but placements are average. Academics are really hectic as classes start from 9 am to 6 pm and sometimes it exceeds even more than that. You will not get enough time to improve yourself and for self study.     I am pursuing my MBA at IIM Sambalpur. I am presently in my second term. Through the first term, I have found myself in an experience where the classes were really useful and brought in great insights from all the faculty members. The lectures here are really effective, helping in bringing in valuable knowledge and perspectives.   • Why IIM Sambalpur is different?

    I chose IIM Sambalpur, and the only reason was that my teacher said me to choose it among the ones I converted. IIM Sambalpur is a baby IIM, and yes I thought whatever facilities are provided us here are just normal as other IIMs, but after 1 or 2 months I realized that it was not the case. IIM Sambalpur is built on 200 acres, and it is built really beautifully and is hardly 2 years old. When you enter, you will be truly mesmerized by the beauty of our campus.
