Rathinam Technical Campus - Institute of Technology B.Tech Review By Rajin Sam

So hi guys I'm a first year bachelor student who is currently pursuing my B.Tech IT degree in Rathinam Technical Campus. So let me first make you clear that the institute has many divisions like RTC (Rathinam Technical Campus), RCAS (Rathinam Institute of Arts And Science) and it has Pharmacy courses too and you can also pursue masters here. There's a separate division called R-Smart and intellect students. This is a separate division for engineering students who gets trained practically throughout the year and the staffs are some of the best you can ever see with more than 10 years of industry experience. They don't really have theory classes other than Tamil and English and some basic Math, and you should also be ready to pay a hefty amount if you are planning to join in the R-Smart division. Other than this the hostel fee is somewhat high than you expect and the food is average and manageable with two times a week non veg menu. They listen to you and change the things you don't like if you ask as a group. Overall a good learning experience and a good campus. There’s no ragging at all inside the campus. They also conduct workshops regularly once or twice every week which is very helpful if you're a technical person. The workshop's duration may vary from just 3 hours to straight 10 hours. Other than this, it is a normal institute as you can expect from any other institute.

Well I'm here through my counseling. I had a cutoff of 166 and I got this institute by applying for upward in the counseling. The course is by far not overwhelming and the staffs are really good to you and they support us both academically and none academically. They help us improve ourselves they give us opportunities to make ourselves better but it's only the matter of ourselves that we are ready to take the challenge and improve. They give us opportunity to share our knowledge by organizing workshop which could be conducted by the students. They give OD for any non academicals activities that are conducted outside of institute. This is a liberal institute, they allow you to participate in hackathons and stuff and they provide everything you need and they also give football coaching for yearly fee of 5k. It's easy to pass in your exams and it has very limited questions and the questions in the exams only come from the question bank they provide. So it's easy to pass and get good grades.

There's nothing to say bad about faculty. Likewise in other institutes some are good and some are not that cool but overall the faculties are cool and make friendly moves and treat you as their child. The only thing is most of the staffs here are not experienced. They only just started their career in teaching but that doesn't make them incapable of teaching. The teaching and everything is good. But there's only one thing that's missing that's the experience of the faculty. But most of them here are very friendly. they clear out your doubts don't blame you for not studying but they make you good at tough topics by taking more time to teach you individually by making evening classes or extra classes and if you don't understand something you can also contact them anytime in phone or in institute itself.

So, this institute has overall average placements. This year the highest package was like 45 lakh per annum and the last year's highest salary package was 54 lakh per annum. But other than these, students get an average salary of 5 LPA. Now they are improving the placement opportunities by training the students in real life discussions, team discussions, presentations, etc. If you are placed in the 3rd year, then you don't have to worry about the fourth year. They will clear all subjects for you; you can just go and work for the company from 4th year onwards.

The hostels are new & well maintained and have laundry facilities. Everyday cleaners come and clean every room of the hostel and keep them clean. The food is average. There are 20 sharing, 16 sharing, 10 sharing, 8 sharing, 6 sharing, 4 sharing, and two sharing rooms available. AC rooms are also available but they are expensive. The hostel fee is somewhat high which ranges from 60k to 2 lakh per year and the hostel food is same for everyone and is average.

The infrastructure of hostel and institute both are good. Institute is well maintained and a new auditorium’s work is still in progress. The distance from institute to hostel is too long. But institute bus facilities are available for hostel students in the morning to reach the institute. There are three main blacks the A block, B block and the C block. They are high, tall and good looking. The classrooms are decent. Overall good infrastructure.

They conduct workshops, events, programs, functions, DJ and parties. Overall a good campus life if you balance both enjoyment and studies then this is the institute for you. There are a lot of activities for a student to do in the institute.
