You will find a calm and quiet environment in Department of Germanic and Romance Studies. French, German, Italian, and Spanish are taught here. Most of the faculty members are very nice to the students. Being at this department feels very homely. The only problem is the timings. You have your classes until evening. Since it is just a department of Arts Faculty, we do not have societies. But it is not even necessary because learning new language needs full concentration. They do not have a playground but the campus of Arts Faculty is already very large. You will definitely enjoy your four years if you take admission in this department. Make friends, and never say no to any plans, that is the rule.

You need to appear in CUET for entry in this department. Any person who has passed his/her 12th and has given CUET exam can take admission You need to fill this department’s name in your preference list. If you really want to make a career in Foreign Language, this is the place for you.

The teachers of Italian language are very nice and helping. They are not strict and will definitely help you in any sort of issue. French teachers are a little stricter than others are but German teachers are friendliest according to the students. The office administrators are little lazy but combined faculty is overall nice to us. The teachers do not force you for anything and they make sure they teach you according to your convenience.

The placements of Department of Germanic and Romance Studies are very nice. Highest placement of 8 LPA and least is upto 3 LPA, which I think is a good start for a beginner. Placement is provided every year for all four languages. Highest placement in Italian.

No, hostel facilities are given from the department. But the department is situated in North Campus of Delhi University, so you have very good chances of getting PG. PGs have hygiene and clean living conditions.

Infrastructure is nice. It has several gardens. Since the department is in Arts Faculty of North Campus, it has a very nice infrastructure and beautiful view. Students sit in gardens during the winter and it feel so good to be around so many people. The library is not that big. But the campus is very big and the infrastructure is good. Students from other colleges of North Campus have also agreed that the infrastructure of this department is nice. Being situated in the North campus, there are many cafés and restaurants near the campus.

Campus life is good. If you manage to make nice friends in the beginning of the college life, being at college will definitely feel like home. Since the classes begin in the morning and continues until the evening, this is technically your second home. You also gets 1-2 hours break in between so you can actually go out with your friends.
