CBS accepts CMAT scores and that's the only way in. So, if you think that caption money can get you here, please stay away. The Institute can be ranked with NHSM as IIM and Techno India are rather above Calcutta Business School. On intellectual capital, I would rate the College a 5 on 5. In terms of infrastructure, too, the College is 5 on 5. Facilities are also 5 on 5. The industry interface is good, but it's a 4 on 5. Well, most B-Schools today have international linkages, but on that parameter, the College is quite poor and therefore just 1 on 5. Placements are good and therefore 4 on 5 for sure. AICTE module is followed and the grading system too, gets 5 on 5. I wish I could give a comprehension of the negative parts, but in gist let me explain some of the things that I saw during my time. The management of the College is hardly responsive and if you have any issues, you will have to escalate the issues to the people who are at the top of management. Security-wise, the campus is a little less secured as the campus is not fully covered with cameras and around 70-80 girls study over here, so they can look into this aspect.

CBS is not an ordinary PGDM College as the College ranks among the top B-Schools in the state. A PGDM from here is as good as an MBA from any Institute of the same pedigree. We were taught the world's political, social, and economic scenarios and how they affect the world's economy as a whole. Knowledge of financial markets and how they work. Our curriculum has helped us hone our logical and analytical deductive abilities. Thereby, one thing that I have developed the most at CBS is my decision-making abilities.

Faculties are someone on whom there will always be cameras. Some of the tactical decisions they took were great like breaks provided by them and giving us off on occasions to make sure students are mentally fresh. Some faculties were vastly experienced while some faculties were working in progress. They will be great teachers in the future, but the misbalancing between some of them didn't work out as expected. Faculties have to play dual roles and they are a mentor and a teacher. So, my answer to faculties is that faculties here come with faculties; the teachers and faculties, the mentors.

Placements here are a generational thing because placements from CBS are a fabulous rare thing even though the figures may not sound as exciting but still a College that is not even in the top 100 B-Schools, still being able to get 100% placements is a record. The highest placement in our batch of 2017-19 was 9.5 lakhs and the average was somewhere around 5 lakhs. Companies like KPMG, Kotak Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Federal Bank, and IndusInd Bank were the prime ones as most of us work in these organizations. So, placements-wise, I have given them a 4 on 5 because I wish the figures that we were offered were a little better.

For the first time in my life, I saw a co-ed hostel. The first floor belonged to the girls and had some rooms on the second floor for girls as the rest of it was for boys. For localities, the hostels are not mandatory, but for outsiders, hostels were more convenient because the hostels are inside the campus. The hostel had single rooms and we all could decorate our rooms as per our wishes. The dining facilities were common and trust me, but I hardly had any meal off-campus as the hostel menu and food were such that the need never felt.

Well, the campus is decent sized and facilities inside that are worth blowing trumpets for. The campus is beautiful and the administrative building which was right next to our hostel was the building to look out for. The only problem was that the library and recreation room were inside that. So, even for hostel students, the facilities were open till 7 pm. luckily, the hostel had timings till 11 pm and boys and girls were allowed in each other's room till 10 pm. The classrooms were air-conditioned and sometimes to get a little extra motivation for studies, we didn't have to travel far as IIM Kolkata was just 15 minutes drive away.

We used to hear about the events and fests of IIM Kolkata and CBS unfortunately have nothing close to it. A College in Bengal not having events is not possible and even we used to have a lot of fests and events but since the students were less, and then the toll of studies and projects, some of the events looked meaningless. Playing snooker was the real-time pass as the snooker room was open till 11 pm and that is where we used to play and discuss studies too.
