Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology is one of the best Engineering colleges in the district. The faculties are qualified and experienced. Eligible candidates can avail scholarship. The college hosts KTU TechFest frequently. Bus services are available to almost every part of Palakkad. The college has a strict anti ragging policy. There's a dedicated disciplinary committee for every events at college to maintain the decorum.

The college offers B.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical and Civil Engineering. According to KTU, it is mandatory that a student should score at least 50 % marks each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for general students and minimum 40% in each of the above mentioned subjects for SC/ST students. Students with overall percentage of 85% or above can avail scholarships if applied on management quota (not applicable for merit list students). Students with a rank of at least 30 k in KEAM can apply for merit quota else they would have to go for management quota.

Most of the faculties have 10+ years of experience and either have a Ph.D or pursuing one. The professors are really committed when it comes to completing the syllabus on time or clearing doubts. The professors teach in such a way that it matches everyone's pace and ensure they could pass off the end semester exam. They do assess student performance frequently with continuous tests and quizzes.

The college has a functioning library with magazines relevant to every engineering branch, journals, papers, articles and reference books, a hall with central air conditioning system, a chemistry lab, physics lab and labs that are relevant to respective engineering branches. There is a canteen with decent cuisines. There are no dedicated parking lots but there is enough space for parking in front of campus. There's also a dedicated parents block at the entry gate.

There are various clubs for students to engage in non academic activities. These include astronomy club, nature club, photography club, etc. NSS unit also gives a chance to students to engage in leisure activities and team building. Cultural fests and arts fest are held often. Students can showcase their athletic abilities at sports fest and the best athletes are given a chance to represent the college at state and national levels. It also hosted the KTU TechFest 2024.
