Union Christian College: Best Part of My Life

Overall Rating
I am currently a third year undergraduate student in Union Christian College. I chose Economics degree. There are 6 semesters in 3 years. I came to know about this college through social media. This university carries the legacy of more than 100 years. This college is affiliated under Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam. The main things that influenced me about the college are its aesthetic beauty and legacy of our college.
 

Academics Rating
Our college has about 17 undergraduate and postgraduate courses. It also has self-financing courses. There are 6 semester exams, 12 internal exams, and a project. Students who have above 95% in plus two examinations, they can study here at free of cost. For those who are not, they can take admission through management or through reservation.
 

Faculty Rating
Our department mainly consists of 6 teachers and 1 HoD. All teachers are highly qualified teachers who have passed postgraduate, NET and PhD. They also have good teaching experience. Mostly, they are the best in understanding the students and giving them the output they need. They promote self-study because only through that a student can have deep knowledge about that subject.
 

Placement Rating
Many students have jobs through the placement cell of our college. Miss Sheetal is in charge of the placement cell. So many companies like Accenture, Infosys, and Tesla are accompanied with our college and conducting job drive for students in different streams. The average salary package is around 3 to 5 Lakh per Annum.
 

Hostel Rating
When our college was started, it had full residential system but now, there are day scholars also. I chose college hostel as my house is far away. The college has about 5 girl’s hostels, 1 boy’s hostel, and 1 sports hostel. The affordable fee structure is the distinguished feature of our hostel. The students themselves look after the income and expenditure in the, college.
 

Infrastructure Rating
My college is beautiful with green scenery. It was established around 1921. Therefore, Union Christian College has a legacy of 104 years. Therefore, the main attraction of the college is the ancient buildings. Kacheri Malika is the center attraction of our college. However, the lack of technological buildings is main problem for teachers and students for visualizing through newly established software’s. That’s why 2 buildings have come as innovative now.
 

Campus Rating
There are many clubs in Union Christian College like NCC, NSS, Mountain Club, Swaralaya, Quiz Club, Nature Club, Gandhi Darshan Club, and Disaster Management Clubs for students to enhance their ability and molding them has a human being. Overall campus life has very chill mood. The students who elected as the union members for conducting programs for them. Many programs and fest are conducted like Union Day, Victory Day, Drama Day, Convocation Ceremony, etc.
