IFIM Law School Bangalore: Fee Structure and Scholarship Opportunities

Three years at IFIM School of Law were good. I researched intensely before joining the college, as there are not many good institutions in Bangalore offering this course. this college offers Business courses as well. The college firstly has CGPA system. The students would be writing two exams parallelly, one for KSLU and other for the college. The college believes that KSLU marksheets are confusing for foreign institutions and their marks script can be produced to give the foreign institutions a better clarity regarding a student performance. The college also offers other subjects apart from these mandated subjects, there are additional programs such as Research Incubation and Personality Enhancement.

There are not any particular requirement criteria to get admission in the college. After HSC, one can directly apply for an admission through the college website. After short listing, there shall be an interview round. There shall be a separate interview for the same. As long as you, one has all the required documents admission would not be a hassle. It actually quite easy to an admission in the college. As I already mentioned in my previous answer, the college has two-exam system. Every semester runs for six months as per KSLU. Apart from the Internal Assessment required by the exam. Classroom teaching obviously gives required knowledge and other activities such as mooting, debating helps to build one's personality. However, no Law school can quite prepare you well for real-life challenges.

The total fee for 3-year LLB program is Rs. 4.5 Lakh. There shall be one time registration payment of Rs. 10,000. The college does offer scholarship for students. The college does have some eligible criteria for selection and student for scholarship. If the student is eligible there shall be an interview conducted. Depending on the results of the interview, the percentage of scholarship is decided. The scholarship student should conduct oneself and fulfill all the conditions laid down by the college such as 90% attendance and aggregate of 7.5 CGPA in every academic year, for the scholarship to be renewed after each academic year.

The faculty at times can be mix of good and average. During my first year of college, I had an excellent group of faculty members who were exceptional at their job. However, as I proceeded further the quality of faculty became average. Like any other private institution most faculty tend to leave the institution after a year. Even though faculties can be young at times, they are good at their jobs. The college offers LMS system and student can watch recorded sessions of the classroom. The college is efficiently equipped for all new techs to aid in teaching. The faculties are helpful and reliable. The teachers are very helpful and are approachable in nature.

The college does have a placement cell. The cell helps students to secure internships during the college. The college makes it mandatory for the students to intern during every semester break. The cell helps the students by conducting workshops on interview skills and one to one mock interviews. However, it is not very efficient in placing students after graduating. Over time, I have seen the cell grow. I am sure somewhere down the line, cell will have successful placement drives.

I have not been a hostel student. The hostel fee is around 1.5 LPA. The hostel does offer variety of amenities like GYM, sports ground, library, etc. The food offered is quite good and healthy.

The college when compared to other colleges does not have a huge campus. However, the college have all the amenities like canteen, library, computer labs, amphitheatre and auditorium. The college is clean and green. The library is equipped with digital library as well. The classrooms are equipped for LMS system of learning along with AC. The infrastructure is modern and comfortable for teachers and for students as well. The college offers students free subscription of SCC online database for the duration of the course.

The campus is bustling with one or the other event. The college hosts various festive events like dandiya nights, fresher’s party, etc. As already mentioned the college offers variety of clubs like moot court, debate, ADR, crime, social immersion program, research, music, etc. The college also hosts annual day every academic year and some religious hosts a charity drive called ‘Kanyathon’ where it raises money for girl children. Overall, the campus life is engaging and the college offers plenty of opportunities for growth.
