Khalsa College Patiala Placement and Career Opportunities

If I talk about my overall experience at KCP then it's very obvious to tell about both the positive and negative sides. Khalsa College is situated at Patiala (Punjab) is a medium college to pursue degree from as a UG course. My most beautiful memories were made with my professors and the way they used to give practical knowledge in the field of my course. Many other factors are involved when I talk about my college journey in KCP, So education has high level quality for students and their careers in the field they admire to choose.

Actually I chose B.Com as my UG course because I wanted to do some extra work at my college by scoring more CGP in my collective semesters without disturbing my study in the college and keeping work life and study balanced. Here, work is the skills I learnt during my college years. B.Com was chosen for my interest in Banking & Finance selectively. Eligibility criteria are minimum 75% in boards at my college. Admissions were simple as you just need to fill the form online and you need to pay 300 Rs. as Registration fee and when you get the mail from KCP to pay education fee then you have to proceed further. Frequency of exams is likewise 3 times in each semester. Twice mid-term exams are conducted and then final term exams are organized. Academics prepare each student on the basis of their intellectual and how well they are performing in their studies.

Fee structure varies as per the course that you have chosen. For B.Com course students need to pay Rs. 26,000 yearly. This amount is divided in two sub divisions that need to get submitted in admission block. Special discounts are applicable on the Casteism and Concession basis of board exam if you score more than 85%. Scholarships and financial aid is given to bright students in case of poor financial condition in some special cases.

Faculty members are chosen based on a specific criterion as minimum you need to have a UG degree in the selective field. Background is based on study basis only. Method of teaching is done by giving some time to train after boosting confidence. The Problem solving ability is based on real life circumstances. Teacher student Ratio is based on number of students taught in a single classroom. My bonding was nice and well maintained with all my teachers with due respect.

Placements is the thing my college lacks. This is the only thing that my college needs to improve more and more. To attract students of particular criteria. Students acquire jobs in the industry by 80% selection through academics and attendance basis. CGP is determined as the main merit. Placement related activities & programs are conducted at college are based on company's job roles. Renowned Companies that visit KCP to enroll students for specific job roles on their merit basis. Packages offered can be justified as ₹2,00,000 annually (average). I don't have placement experience.

Yes, college offers residential facilities to students of all courses and degrees. Total rooms and number of students are based on the size of rooms. Each room has minimum 4 girl students. Yes, girls and boys hostels are separate. Mess food (best quality of food is served keeping in mind about the regions of students, no. of times food is served is 3 in a day), Hostel fee is ₹60,000 annually of each students despite of their courses. Hostels rules & timings are mentioned in the Colleges Rules & Regulations forum. My personal experience was satisfying but in the beginning it’s tough to stay away from family but later on things gets settled.

Campus academic blocks were well structured where commerce and management has a separate building with lift service. Campus size is very large. Classrooms in my building are huge in size with 85 student strength in each. Library, labs, Seminar halls, auditorium, conference hall are present in KCP in different buildings with maximum seating capacity and comfort. Canteen has strength of 500 students to sit & eat. Sports have separate playgrounds to play for those who are interested in medical facilities and are also present in case of emergency. Transportation facilities are given to hostel students only. Security is well maintained at entrance gates. Favorite place where I used to be at the most of times was girl’s park where only girls were allowed to sit and enter. Infrastructure features were all good and specifically those who complement my course. My course building is the most beautiful structured building.

My overall campus life was good. College crowd was nice amnd they all gathered at the time of youth fest and special events when chief guest was invited at KCP. Yes, there are many clubs present like Kirat Club and many more. No, I am not part of any of these. Engagement activities as I mentioned above I used to take part in many of those and participation is more important than winning. Fests/events used to take place multiple times. I'm here from 6 months. My experience about campus life made me more than happy.
