A comprehensive review of KLS GIT, Belgaum

Overall Rating
Gogte Institute of Technology offers a balanced blend of academic things, diverse extracurricular activities and career opportunities. The infrastructure is well maintained with modern labs, a well equipped library and comfortable hostel facilities. The campus also fosters social engagement through clubs, cultural fests and activities. While the Belgaum city may not have the bustling nightlife of metropolitan cities, the calm and safe environment offers students opportunities for relaxed, community friendly living.
 

Academics Rating
The academic environment of GIT is designed to provide a solid foundation in engineering and technology. The curriculum here provides well structured and periodically updates to keep pace with other Institutes of the same standard. The core subjects offered here are also well aligned with market requirements seeked in students. The faculty in this Institute is also highly qualified and approachable. They often go extra mile to clear students' doubts and are known for their engaging teaching style and leniency.
While I opted for government seat by writing CET exam as the entrance exam for OBC category. My first year fee was around Rs. 95,000/- and in the subsequent years it was like 74-76k per year.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty staff members are not only highly qualified but are very approachable and supportive to the students. The Institute also supports mentorship, where professors are assigned to a group of students who help not only academically but also in the career opportunities related queries. The quality of teaching in comparison to some other Institutes is a key factor for me. Other Institutions like BVB in Hubli has competent faculty too but the GIT focuses on wholly student engagement, personalised feedback and regular interactions.
 

Placement Rating
As per my opinion GIT has had a strong placement records with top companies from various sectors regularly visiting campus for placements. The placement cell is also very active in preparing students for placements. They offer various courses externally for preparing initial rounds for interview like Aptitude exams.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostel facilities are comfortable at GIT with both Boys and Girls hostel located inside the campus. It is easy for students to get to Institute under 2 minutes. They offer double and triple shared accommodation rooms. The hostels have Wi-Fi, water supply, drinking water facility, etc. However, the food quality in the hostel mess can be improved in some cases, although there are canteens inside the campus that serve good food. I had not opted for hostel and I was staying at a PG but the hostel fees are Rs. 26,000 per year when I graduated.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The classrooms are well equipped with modern teaching techniques like projectors, smart boards and audio systems which enhance the learning experience. The labs are well stocked with the latest equipment's for all courses in engineering and technology. The library is also spacious with a huge collection of technical books, journals, e-resources like the Kindle reading tablet, etc. Overall the infrastructure at GIT is top notch, providing all necessary facilities to support both academic and learning and extracurricular activities.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life at GIT is very vibrant with diverse student bodies compound from various backgrounds all over India. The social atmosphere is generally friendly and welcoming, making it easy for new students to make new friends and build meaningful connections with their peers both within and outside the department. GIT celebrates various festivals, events and cultural programs with great enthusiasm. From Ganesh Chaturthi to Diwali by decorating the campus and having pujas in the main office building.
