The Glorious Sibsagar University

Overall Rating
I have a very good experience in Sibsagar University. I am happy that I chose this university. I wanted to pursue degree far from my home so that is another reason why I chose it. Its environment, surroundings, and campus are good, that is second reason. Here, the faculties are good from what I heard (which is true) from some seniors.
 

Academics Rating
The course I chose was B.Sc in Physics. I have loved Physics from class 9th. The eligibility is that you must pass 12th with minimum 50% for pursuing Bachelor’s degree. You must also give an entrance exam conducted by university. Admission process is very simple. If your name is in merit list, then go to university on specific date mentioned in the notice, pay your admission fee, and choose your department. There are 3 exams in each semester: 1st & 2nd sessional and final exam. Each sessional exam is held after 2 months.
Being in a government university, you do not have to pay too much. For every odd semester, the admission fee is Rs. 4,500 to Rs. 5,000. But if you belong to BPL (Below Poverty Line) and you don't have backlog then it will Rs. 1,200. The fee includes all the charges except exam fee. The fee is Rs. 1,200 to Rs. 1,700. There are UG and PG scholarships of Rs. 54,000 to Rs. 70,000 per year.
 

Faculty Rating
I love my faculty members because they are very helpful and friendly. I remember that one time near final exams, I didn’t understood one topic, and I asked one of our faculty teachers about that topic in 2.20 AM (unbelievable). After 12 minutes, surprisingly he replied and helped me. This is the reason, I have immense respect for my teachers. Their teaching style is also good. Everyone uses blackboard to derive the problem and solution. Some employ PPTs and group discussion also.
 

Placement Rating
Placements are also good. The rate is about 60%. Companies like Infosys, CGG, etc. visit the campus during drive.
 

Hostel Rating
Sibsagar University has two hostels. There is one for boys and another for girls. In boy’s hostel, there are about 14 rooms and 54 boys can easily stay. In girl’s hostel, there are about 30-35 rooms. Boys and girls hostel are separated as one is at the beginning and other is at university end, which is boy’s hostel. The quality of hostel mess food is average. There are timings for hostlers (Both girls and boys). Boys are allowed to go out till 5.30 PM. But girl’s rules are different. You can think why I know this much. Because I am a hostler and some of my female friends stay in girl’s hostel.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Campus’ academic blocks are historic. There are rooms from ac class to historic old buildings. The university is located at on the bank of Joysagar tank. The classrooms have capacity 20 to 100 students. There is one library, 3 canteens, one seminar hall, a conference hall, and an auditorium in university campus. The favorite thing about my university is its view. If you can't believe me, then just come to my university for once.
 

Campus Rating
My campus life is awesome.The college croud is very .much. But there are no clubs. If there are some clubs for anime i will definitely choose it. The are many extracurricular activities organised by our college. About the events celebrated our college are saraswati puja, establish day etc. and how we forget about freshers. It's the best day. Audition for freshers is also like a festival.I love my college campus life.

    Sibsagar University is an University situated in the outskirt of historical Sivasagar town, i.e. in the historical Joysagar area. This University is situated on the bank of the Joysagar Tank which is the factor for pleasant environment and noise free surrounding. The teaching and non teaching staff is helpful and so it becomes fruitful for students in education. It consists of about 17 departments with Quality staff members.
