Scholarships and Fees at GVPCE Visakhapatnam

My overall experience in Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering was good. Everyone says Gayatri Vidya Parishad is the best college in Andhra Pradesh among the EAMCET colleges. So, I choose it in my EAMCET counseling as my first choice. I got good rank in my EAMCET exam so I got selected for Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering. I choose this college because of its placements too.

I choose Computer Science and Engineering in Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering. Because after my 12th I wanted to join in Computer Science and then many people said Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering would be a better choice. To get admission in this college student must attempt AP-EAMCET and get good rank in it. The admission will be based on your Caste reservation and EAMCET Rank. Admission process in this college was very smooth and first we have to go to the college to submit our certificates after getting seat in counseling. They will verify them and confirm our admission. For our course there will be 2 semesters per year and total 8 semesters for this course. For every semester there will be 2 mids and total 16 mids are there. For every mid we have to submit an assignment and also write a quiz. In my opinion they won't give us any real-life examples and that curriculum won't help us that much. We have to prepare on our own to get a job. There will be 2-4 sections for every branch in our course and there were also other courses like M.Tech and MCA.

As I choose B.Tech in Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering the tuition fee was Rs. 69,000 for us and hostel and book fee will be different. College also provides hostels for men and women separately. For men’s hostel the fee will be Rs. 80,000 and for women's hostel it was Rs. 75,000. There will be no registration fee or any other fee. Our state government has provided us tuition fee reimbursement for first three years and in our final year government has changed and new government has not paid the fee so, we paid it on our own. For any other scholarships we have to apply on our own.

In B.Tech in Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering, all the faculty members were good at their subjects and explain their subjects well. But they don't have that much knowledge on other subjects and new technologies. So, we have to learn new technologies on our own. They provide PPTs and documents before the exams and we should prepare to exams using them. In Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering teacher-student ration was 1:60. Faculty members were good with students. We have to improve our problem solving skills on our own.

For first two and half years we won't have a single contact with our placement cell and after that they create group according to our branch and add us into them. They will start providing training for the placements. All the placement trainings were paid and we have to choose among those trainings. After those we have attempted for the placements in our 4th year. But due to recession we haven't got good placements and in take were very less. We've got very less notable companies and we can count them on fingers. Out of all TCS, Accenture, and Capgemini were the notable MNCs and they took good number of students. After getting placement the joining will not be in our hands. We cannot even contact them. It purely depends on our luck.

Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering provides both man's hostel as well as women's hostel separately. Hostel fee I have mentioned above. I have been there in men's hostel for my entire course. Hostel rooms were good and they provide heaters too. They solve problems quickly too. It is totally pure veg hostel. So it would be difficult for the non veg students. Cleanliness will be good here. Rules and Timings of the hostels were good. They provide food 4 times a day that is breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. The taste of the food provided in the hostels was average.

Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering has a small campus. That's the major negative for this college. It does not have proper space. The gym and play ground in the college is also very small. But the best thing in the college is that it is full of greenery which gives us good vibes. Classrooms seating capacity was 60 to 80 and for labs it is 30 to 40 and also there are two auditoriums in the campus. College also has a library and for every branch there will be a separate seminar hall. Security will be provided at every gate. As I said ground is very small but everyone plays in it so it is congested every time. In my opinion, Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering has overall all the facilities but the campus is not spacious enough.

Overall campus life is good and I would say its average. I guess there will be about 2000 members across the college. College also provides clubs like Rotaract; We Are 4 Help, IEE, etc. There will be both social clubs and technical clubs. Joining in those clubs will be totally a student's own choice. I'm not part of any of those clubs. Different extracurricular activities and fests were organised in the college but they were not up to the mark.
