Choose ICF Delhi for Your BBA in Fashion Entrepreneurship

It was a fine experience at ICF, Delhi. It is a private college affiliated with the University of Mysore. I studied BBA in Fashion Entrepreneurship, which is an Undergraduate program of three years. One thing that differentiates this college from other institute is its duration of the fashion UG course. Most institutes provide this course for 4 years. It saved my one year. This is what that made me choose the college. Another thing that I loved about this college is that, we were required to visit the Mysore University twice throughout the program for our semester examination. All the expenses were paid by the college authority. Regarding the teachers, I had a wonderful bond with few of them. Some things could be better like more machines to stitch the garments and more faculties for pattern making, more focus on recruiting companies related to fashion designers or export house, instead of retail sector.

It you are looking to get into the same course, you must complete your 12th from any board with English as a compulsory subject. Your minimum marks in 12th board must be more than 60%. The eligibility criteria to get into this college are very simple and straightforward. You just need to appear for an entrance exam. The exam consists of aptitude, reasoning, and basis grammar. The college also provides scholarship based on merit. The course has 6 semesters, i.e., 2 semesters per year. The exams are conducted according to the semester only. The subjects are well designed that provide all the knowledge related to fashion industry.

The fee for my course was Rs. 2,50,000 per year including registration and examination fees. Since I was graduated in 2019, fee might have been updated. I personally feel the fee was okay as per the academics and all other offerings we were getting. College won't be providing any financial support. You may also apply for scholarship if you have scored more than 90% in 12th or performed excellent during the entrance exam. Scholarship is completely dependent on your performance.

The best of ICF New Delhi is its faculty. I just loved all of them. It’s been five years I graduated from college and I am still in touch with my merchandising teacher. We had 6 regular faculties in total, which includes teacher of Pattern Making, Merchandising, Fashion History, Law, Illustration, and Textiles. Our dean was highly supportive. The class duration was one hour and few of them were 1.5 hours. Apart from regular faculties, the college also has some visiting faculties for personality development and other related areas of Fashion industry.

ICF Delhi consists of a placement cell which have 7 members in total. Students usually starts getting interview from the fifth semester. I was placed in my last semester because I always wanted to work under fashion journalist. That took placement cell some time to get in tough with one of the best fashion journalist. Most visiting companies were from retail sector, like, Tommy Hilfiger, Zara, and H & M. Apart from the retail sector, college also offer placements under some renowned fashion designers and export houses. Students can choose any as per their desires. High paying jobs of Rs 4-6 LPA were offered under retail sector as an initial salary, while under designers, students were first required to do unpaid internship for 3 or 6 months.

College does not have any hostel. You can take help from counselors regarding hostel or PG. Since I was not from Delhi, I opted for PG service near college only. You can find PG or hostel for Rs. 5,000.

This is where I felt infrastructure of ICF New Delhi should be improved when I took admission. I am not sure about the campus size but it had two floors. In the year 2021 when I went to met my teachers, I figured out the college has been shifted to some other place, i.e., Okhla Industrial Area. Now it actually seems very fancy and campus size is greater than we used to have earlier in 2016-2019. The college has a canteen with many dishes. The new campus has a library and a conference hall too.

My experience regarding the campus was neutral. The college is strict with its timing. The class used too begun at 9 AM sharp, and we were not allowed to enter if it 9:05 AM. The college had indeed good crowd but I was not much interested to know about all the people since I was comfortable with my three friends throughout those three years. The college used to conduct fest, i.e., ‘Tarang’. In this show, all the students were expected to participate and showcase their garments to the jury members. It was the most awaited show for all the fashion students.
