ICT Bhubaneswar: Fee Structure, Placements, and Academic

Overall, ICT Bhubaneswar is good with respect to both placement and higher studies. Research facilities and labs are also well maintained within the institute. The institute is good as compared to what you will get at this much rank. Instruments and equipment in labs is what make this institute standout in comparison to other institutes at same rank. If you are interested in chemical Engineering (good in Physics and Math), than this institute is heaven for you. One of senior got internship at Barc, another at UK and Dubai. One senior got AIR 42 in GATE.

I belong to general EWS category and I got all India rank of 94297. At this rank, I decided to prefer the brand name of ICT Mumbai rather than choosing a tier 3 institute. Admissions for Integrated B.Tech and M.Tech course are through JEE Main’s rank. If you are general category candidate, you will get ICT Bhubaneswar at around 1 lakh rank. We get the degree from ICT Mumbai and name of Bhubaneswar branch is not even mentioned. Academics are very well designed. Since PhD courses are also available in the institute, research culture is well maintained.

Fee of the Integrated B.Tech and M.Tech course is around Rs. 9,40,000 for five years including hostel and mess charges. Fee is same for all categories including EWS. No scholarships are provided by the institute. You can easily avail for loan, as you will get that easily on brand name of ICT Mumbai, if you are financially weak.

Faculties are well educated and carry good experience. Many of the faculties did Master’s from IITs and one of the faculty member even studied from IISc. Nimai Mishra, which is one of our faculties, is google scholar and did his PhD from National University of Singapore. Faculties are tolerant.

For internship and placement, you need not to worry if you can maintain a good CGPA. Placement rate is approximately 80% with average package of 8 LPA. Last year, the highest placement was 21 LPA by CPCL. PSUS often visit for campus placement. There are some other big giants too that come for recruitment that includes Reliance, Deloitte, ExxonMobil, etc.

Hostel is available and you can opt for it if you want. Otherwise, many students join are day scholar. Ragging culture is not there. Seniors are helpful, if you want to interact with them. I personally know some seniors who are excelling in their careers. Quality of food can be improved though. There are some common areas for boys and girls in hostel during daytime. We are not allowed to leave hostel without proper authorization after 10 PM and enter after 11 PM. At 10:30 PM, girls have to go inside girl’s hostel premises. Ganesh Utsav is the best time of the year with lot more activities in hostel, which makes the holistic environment.

Infrastructure of ICT Bhubaneswar is not up to the mark. There is lot of room for improvement. Institute need to construct more labs in order to provide better practical experience to the students. Nonetheless, as the institute is located in prime location of Bhubaneswar, you will get good experience of city life with many malls and food courts nearby.

Overall, the college life is good. At this rank, this is not bad option. Institute is well crowded. Clubs are there and have potential to be improved more in the future. Fests such as Ganesh Puja, Saraswati Puja, and Vishwakarma Puja are celebrated here, especially in the hostel.
