Chettinad School of Law, Chennai: Fees and Scholarships

I'm a pre final year student at Chettinad School of Law. Not just me, anyone would fall for its green campus, which is maintained well and gives a pleasant environment. Apart from the campus, most appreciated inherent quality is that the campus is ragging free. To be more precise, until date there is no such practice of discriminating between seniors and juniors. in fact, all the events are hosted together. the faculty members are friendly and are approachable. The security gate systems, biometric attendance, guards, and so on ensure the safety of each student inside campus. Moreover, the university has about 11 departments and we get an opportunity to interact with people enrolled in other departments as well. All the celebrations happening here would be of utmost fun am enjoyment, at the same time ensuring the decorum as well.

It's a five-year course. It has 10 semesters in total. after each semester, we must do an internship in a semester break and while resuming to college and in next semester, we must submit those internship certificates and attend internship interview conducted at college. The assignments given here are with intent to ensure a holistic learning experience. Apart from theoretical papers, we have clinical papers too for which we will be evaluated separately. Also, in each semester, a moot, guest lectures, seminars, client-counseling competition, debating etc., would be conducted. Furthermore, fun activities too will be conducted to maintain a balance. Every Saturdays we have a movie session too wherein good law films are projected and we have to write a review on the same. Minimum 50% marks in 12th give eligibility to apply.

The actual tuition fee is Rs. 4,00,000 per year. But, based on 12th marks, it does provide merit scholarships. Most of the charges are covered by scholarship. Now, I'm paying around Rs. 1,00,000 per year because of this scholarship program.

Faculty members are highly friendly and approachable. All the faculty members are experienced and are alumni from prestigious universities. Lot of new methods of teachings is used to culminate and bring us a better understanding. We do have mentor mentee sessions too wherein we can speak out about the issues. There isn't a huge strength of faculties but a small bunch of highly qualified faculties to enrich students.

The placement cell is now active. It makes painstaking efforts to bring good opportunities for students.

I'm a day scholar so I'm not aware about hostels.

Chettinad School of Law has an excellent infrastructure. A library is there, which is common for all the departments. Escalators and lifts are also there. Classrooms are AC and non-AC. It also has an excellent food court with variety of cuisines to explore. There is a big auditoriums with addendum for specialize any occasion. The atrium area adds beauty to the entire place. The campus is very clean and maintained hygienically to be very honest. Since the campus is situated near to hospital campus, students can get access to medical treatments in case of emergency.

I am cherishing each moment here. This college has a pleasant environment. there are cycles to travel inside the campus. I think it is a good initiative by the institution. Annual fests here are too special. there are different clubs for different subject matters. Lot of competitions will be happening, as there are many departments inside the campus. Finally, there is a memorandum with Surana and Surana International Attorneys has paved ways for lot of learning and placement opportunities.
