My Personal Views on Jadavpur University

Overall Rating
Jadavpur University is tier 1 university and it is better than few IIT's and NIT's. Most important thing that you get here is JU tag. Alumni network is amazing and has very helpful Senior. There is no ragging here. I can say this university is amazing and I love it. I am in Jadavpur University Salt Lake campus and this campus is very different from JU’s main campus. I would say if you want peace than Salt Lake campus is for you. Placement and return of investment in our university is one of the highest among other universities in the world.
 

Academics Rating
I have chosen Bachelor of Engineering in Printing & Packaging Technology as I achieved rank around 2100. I did not get higher rank that's why I got this branch. To get admission in this university, you have to give WBJEE exam, which was held in April. If you get good rank, you can get a chance to get admission in Jadavpur University. The fee is very low and almost every one can afford. I would say keep WBJEE as backup and prepare for JEE Advanced (that’s what I did).
Fee structure is simple, maximum Rs. 1,10,000 for 4 year of Bachelor of Engineering for all branches except Information Technology.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty members are highly educated and have many year of experience. Their behavior is very good and are regular in classes. They are helpful, as they will solve your doubts. They even will give you their personal number so that they can solve your doubt any time. They are friendly in nature. They will support and motivate you. They will also guide you for your future. One thing that I liked the most about teachers is their behavior.
 

Placement Rating
We also have well trained placement cell. The average package is around 7 LPA for Arts and Science. For Engineering students, the average package is around 10 LPA. One more thing that I will say is for CSE and IT branches, highest packages go up to Crore.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are two campuses one is Salt Lake campus and another is main campus. I am not satisfied with infrastructure of Jadavpur University because of funding where IITs and nits get lot of funding, as blank cheques but this university doesn't get that much funding. I hope in the future, the infrastructure can be improved so that it can become best in all the aspects.
 

Campus Rating
Salt lake campus is not at crowded with students. Now talking about main campus, it is very much crowded. You will definitely get exposure with every kind of people. Hence, campus life is good.

    Our university is a tier 1 state public university with NIRF 2024 rank 12th in Engineering Category. Placement is very good (up to 100%) in some departments like Civil, Construction, Electrical, Mechanical, etc. Overall placement was 95% last year.     The overall experience of the university is superb. I'll describe each aspect in the later section but here let me give an outline of my experience. Jadavpur University offers the best ROI in India, the fees is just 2400 and getting an average placement of 10 LPA (20 LPA for CSE). There's no 75% attendance policy, 45-50% is enough.     Jadavpur University is one of the most prestigious institutions of India, particularly known for its Engineering courses.
