Amity University Gwalior: Placement Success and Career Opportunities

My experience in Amity University was good and just as I expected. I heard about this University so much in my city that's why I chose it. The decision was correct and I am happy with it. You all have to choose this University if you love to participate in social activities. They provide so many opportunities to get in touch or interact with others socially. The environment there is also fantastic. Infrastructure, facilities, grounds and others essential things are way better than other Universities in Gwalior. The placement cell of University also does its work and makes the students prepared for placements. I personally chose this University because it is very close to my home and many of my friends also want to join in here. I read reviews of this University and most of them are positive. My teachers also recommended this to me so I choose it. I have been a part of it since 2023 and now I am in 2nd year doing well here.

When I first got admission in this department of University, they asked me what course you want to choose so I was pretty sure about my choice. I am pursuing B.Tech in computer science. The eligibility criterion for B.Tech CSE was 60% in 12th PCM. As I my percentage was 69 in 12th PCM so I already passed that one criteria. Then the students need to qualify in an entrance test conducted by the University and then I gave that test. The test had 50 MCQ questions and completed it within 30 minutes. One more thing, if you are choosing a private University like Amity then the academic pressure is very high as there are 3 exams conducted frequently in a single semester. This can sometimes get frustrating. The university provides communication and behavior classes to prepare you for real life challenges. Moreover they also conduct classes for human development and character building, etc. In this area Amity is considered at the top against many other Universities in India.

For B.Tech (CSE) I paid a total amount of Rs. 10 lakh approximately. This includes all the charges like tuition fee, registration fee, etc. A detailed fee structure is: 1st and 2nd semester: Rs. 1,04,500. For 3rd and 4th semester: Rs. 1,09,500. For 5th and 6th semester: Rs. 1,15,000 and lastly for 7th and 8th semester: Rs. 1,21,000. (This is the total academic fees.) For registration fees they charge Rs. 1,500 and they also take Rs. 15,000 as security fee and this is returned after degree is completed. They offer scholarships to the students on the basis of their 12th percentage. For 70% you get 25% scholarship similarly for 85% you get 50% scholarship and for 95% you get 100% scholarship. The scholarship continues if you are performing well in exams and you have maintained a CGPA of More than 8.5.

In core subjects, all the faculties in Amity University are highly educated and all of them are Ph.D holders or have a recognized degree from a known University. Our programming language teacher also has written their own book and research paper for students. Now he is Head of the Institute. He is from Rajasthan and is teaching since 20 years. One thing I like about Amity is that they focus on practical; classes more than basic lectures so that the students can learn everything easily. Methods of teaching in core-branch courses is hard are very effective for students. Since all the faculties are highly educated that's why they personally don't need any books to teach the syllabus, they already know what to teach and what is the syllabus so that's why they and start teaching without any other source. There are total of 50 faculties who are teaching in our branch so the ratio would be 250/50 which is pretty good and one faculty at a time teaches entire class of 54 students. There are 6 more sections where 6 different faculties teach the same subject. My personal bonding was not that much effective but yes my experience has been very good. I can't understand many topics so I ask the faculty member after the class. All the faculty members are very punctual and I find myself lucky that I got admission this University.

There is a placements cell in my University which is present in A-block. This block is now called as old block and there all the faculties are working hard for students to get placed and be eligible for placements. The conduct various programs from students like coding programs, which is helpful for students to acquire jobs in big companies and also giving us internship opportunities from big Universities like IIT Bhubaneshwar. A while ago they send us a link of meeting of IIT Bhubaneshwar officials where they teach us about the internship program in their University. This is very helpful for students to easily understand and apply for particular Internship program. The famous companies that come in our University are Infosys, Amazon, Google, etc. The package they are offering in Google is average package of 8 lakh and highest package of 25 lakh. In Infosys they are offering an average package of 6 lakhs and highest package of something 35 lakh. Basic companies like TCS, Wipro are offering a average package of 5 lakh and highest of 20 lakh. I am not having a personal placement experience because I am in 2nd year now but I heard from seniors that if you are eligible to sit in placements then you will get a good job for sure.

The hostel of our University is divided into 4 parts which is H-1, H-2, H-3 and H-4. H-3 is for girls and rest block are for boys. Mainly my branch students live in H-1 and H-2. There are total approximately 100 rooms in each hostel which means somewhere around 400 rooms and each room they can accommodate total of 2 students i.e. 800 students. The rooms are clean and are well maintained and hygienic. The toilets are also good and there is a separate toilet for every room so need to worry about rush in toilets. The mess there offers a lot of variety every day but after sometime it becomes boring and you start eating from canteen or from outside of the University. One thing about the mess that I find good is that they provide food 4 times a day. The meals here involve, breakfast, lunch, evening snack and dinner. Fee per meal is about 70 for non-hosteller and same for hosteller. I am not staying in hostel since 6 months because there are very strict rules for timings. If you are a hosteller then you are not allowed to go outside after 8 pm and you have to come back before 8 pm otherwise they will call your parents and for going outside the campus you have to take permission of hostel staff. Night outs are not possible if you are living in hostels.

Our campus is divided into 5 parts which is called A-block, B-block, C- block, D-block and E-block. In A-block there is a placement cell and admission office so if you are any queries related to it then contacts them. B block is for arts students and all courses related to arts. C block is related to courses like LLB, Law, B.Pharm, etc. D block is the academic block for teaching students of accounts and courses like B.Sc. Finally my block which is E-block, it known as "Amity University of Engineering and Technology" (ASET) which is for all the technology course like B.Tech (IT), B.Tech (CSE), BCA, and other technology branches. In my block there are almost 20 classes on each floor and there are 5 floors so total of 100 rooms and 80 of them are classes and 10 of them are faculty rooms with 2 libraries, 1 sports department, 2 emergency rooms, 1 library, 1 seminar hall, 1 canteen, etc. In 80 classes there are 20 labs on whole floor (2nd). The Auditorium is present in B block and it is for all the students of B block and E block. Similarly for D, C block there is only one auditorium present in C block. Conference hall is not there so they perform all the conferences in auditorium or in Seminar hall. In all of them I personally like my library because it is very silent and peaceful place where you can study and can also read some interesting books and magazines. There is Wi-Fi router in every class and have a white board and has capacity for 60 students in a single class. We have projector for doing PPT tasks and for better learning experience. In labs there are around 30 computers in a single lab. For daily travel for Universities there are more than 20 buses that are present in our University. Total of 300-400 students travel daily via University buses.

In the beginning of first semester the experience was not that much good but as time passes I met students and made some new friends. So after that I enjoyed my University life. I feel lucky to take admission in Amity as University environment and atmosphere is fantastic. I mean you never feel that your campus life is boring. There are always activities, annual fests, clubs that are waiting for you. Amity conducts Fests every month and their main fest comes in February which is called "AMI-CHROMA". This is the best fest of Amity and I loved it. In this fest they are performing various activities like sports activities, various food eating competitions, dance competition, music competition, shayari competitions and many other competitions which is fun to participate in. I participate in sports competition which is related to gully cricket like competition. We also perform at Diwali fest which is organized in the month of Diwali. We also take part in coding clubs where you get the certificate after successfully solving the questions for next 45 weeks. The extracurricular activities organized by various Amities of India are called as "AMITY KHEL SANGARAM". In this activity all the Amities compete with each other in various different sports and win trophies and rewards. In this tournament cricket was not there so I don't participate in it but I heard that our basketball and volleyball team is doing very well in this tournament. My overall experience in this University was actually good and I love to go to the University daily. I really miss those moments so I am enjoying my University life and there is more 2.5 years left for me to enjoy and I will enjoy it with my friends. At the end I will say that I am very proud to be an Amitian.
