Placement Realities at GCCBA Kolkata

My college years had been smooth which not much suffering, it was how I expected it to be, simple sorted yet fun. I chose to be in Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration because it is a reputed one and I have always dreamt of getting in this college after my 12th examination. This college gives you with a very affordable fee structure which is very affordable and genuine. Other colleges were far and I couldn't afford the fees they were offering.

The course chosen by me was Bachelor of Commerce with a specialization in Accounting and Finance and I would recommend you to go for the same. Entry requirement to Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration is you have to be very good in studies and score a good percentage of marks in your 12th. Admission process is simple and online, all the steps admission form to admission payment is carried out in online mode, and you just need to go to college once the classes start.

The fees for B.Com with honors in Accounting and Finance are around Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 4,200 but it may have increased. Rs. 1,000 – Rs. 1,200 is tuition fee for one year which is Rs. 500 – Rs. 600 per semester and the examination fees is Rs. 2000 - Rs. 3000 for each year depending on the semester. The admission fee I paid was Rs. 82 which is in 2021. It is government affiliated so you get a lot of leverage.

There are a bunch of teachers specialised in each subject teaching you, but one teacher may teach more than one subject, however it does not affect their efficiency as they are efficient in every subject they teach. The faculty members at Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration are highly qualified, all are CA, CM or Ph.D holders, researchers and more. They often use smart ways of teaching using digital methods and help the student visualize through ppt and smart teaching methods. They give answers to your queries in a good way. The student to faculty ratio is 100:1. The class size is 100 and each teacher teaching 100 students but the efficiency does not compromise.

There is no placement cell at Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration. There is no cell present and the students don't get any help in acquiring jobs placement. But, invitation for some interviews comes as WhatsApp forwards from faculties.

Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration does not provide any accommodation facilities. You have to look for pgs and hostels on your own.

The campus is spacious with greenery and trees all around. Campus size is not very big and we do not have a playground, it’s just an open space in front of the academic building. There are 3 academic buildings joined at right angle. Classrooms are spacious, well ventilated and smart, projectors and smart board is present in them. A canteen is newly opened with the new style cafeteria. Largest library in Kolkata is present in the campus of Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration that is the Vidyasagar library.

My campus life was good at Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration. The college is much crowded but not very much. The college has a STUDENTS UNION, that looks over events conducted and well being of the students. I was not a part of it though. Extracurricular activities are conducted a lot and different inter college competitions are also organised every now and then. Moreover, the December and January month are the best because you get to enjoy a lot of fests and college festivals in that period.
