SVNIT honest review

Overall Rating
SVNIT, Surat is one of the leading Institutes of India. It is considered as tier 1 NIT in India. Basically it is a co educational campus which has B.Tech, M.Tech, and M.Sc programs. A person who has cracked JEE main is eligible for this college. It is a veg. campus (non veg. food is not allowed in campus). It ranks 10-15 amongst 31 NIT’s. Its NIRF ranking is 65 among engineering Universities.
 

Academics Rating
I am pursuing electronics and communication engineering in SVNIT Surat. Electronics and communication engineering will be one of the leading branches in upcoming years. The job opportunities are going to boost for this department in upcoming 5-10 years. A decent percentile should be attained by a person in order to enter in this college through JEE main. For example minimum of 99 percentile should get admission in general category. There will be one mid-term exam and one end-sem examination in one semester.
The fee structure for general category in SVNIT Surat is around Rs. 70,000 – 1,00,000 for one semester. It is tuition fees and the waiver can be applied according to reservation. For example EWS and OBC students whose income is less than Rs. 1,00,000 has full tuition fee waiver and income between 1,00,000-5,00,000 lakh has waiver of 2/3rd of tuition fee.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty that teaches in SVNIT Surat is very good and well skilled. Most of the professors including associate professors are very skilled and graduated from IITs and NITs or well developed Institutes. Faculties update according to market demand of skills and subjects. Overall faculty is quite experienced and skilled. The interaction between the students and faculty members is quite good. The faculty members always try to help and solve our academic problems.
 

Placement Rating
The placement rate at Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology is less from last two years and is expected to grow in upcoming years.
 

Hostel Rating
SVNIT Surat offers hostel facilities to all the members and the food is below average.
 

Infrastructure Rating
SVNIT Surat was constructed in 1961. It is basically an old Institute so the infrastructure of most of the departments is quite good. The infrastructure of the hostels is average. The infrastructure of the library is quite new and good. (it is ranked 2nd amongst all the NIT’s). Sports facilities are quite average. It is one of the major disadvantages of college for children who are interested in sports.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus experience at Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology is very good and the college crowd is quite average. The campus experience is such a vast campus of 250 acres. It is obviously good. There are many clubs. Some of the clubs like CHRD and Dhristi are one of the prestigious colleges of NIT’s and IIT’s. The college conducts many good and famous fests including Kashish and Sparsh. My experience as the B.Tech student is very good as Students here can get a vast exposure.

    SVNIT is part of one of the top institutes of India. It provides students all the required facilities and encourages them to develop and learn skills on their own. There is nothing missing in the campus life at SVNIT. The academic facilities are top class. It would be difficult to find other institutes with similar facilities.
