PTU Pondicherry Infrastructure: Facilities, Classrooms, and More

My main reason to choose this university is that it is a government university with good placement records in the Union Territory of Pondicherry. The fee structure is also main factor to choose this university. Here you will get to have some free hours, which you can focus on other activities, which may or may not be linked to academics through which you can find your interests and create a career on it if needed.

The course I chose is Electrical & Electronics Engineering. My motive for choosing this course is to pursue a career in electric department. You can join this university only through CENTAC, a Pondicherry based Government organization that allocates universities based on the marks you scored in your 12th standard. You have two semesters in a year and each semester has a average of 5 to 6 theory papers each paper consists of three internal assessment test out of which best two will be selected for your internals in that particular subject.

You have to pay a yearly fee that ranges from Rs. 13,000 to Rs. 14,000 if you have joined through CENTAC.

The faculty members have an average experience of more than ten year, which you don't usually get in other universities. These faculties are mostly graduated in IITs and NITs. They prefer PPTs and blackboard for teaching. A faculty handles an average of 50 students in a class. Some teachers are friendly and others are strict. You can go to them if you have any doubts in class in free hours.

Since it is an old government university, our department is a bit rusty but the size of the department is huge. The size of classroom is more than enough. You get to have all facilities like libraries, labs, seminar hall, etc. in the department itself. It has a decent canteen facility and a good ground. Ground is my favorite spot in my university.

I have a great campus life. Other students are easy to blend with. There are several kinds of clubs, which is used to develop your interests in any kind of activities such as photography, designing, etc. There will be a sports day every year and a main cultural every year, which will mostly happen in even semester. There are several small even like Pongal celebration, Holi celebration, etc. I have a great experience in campus life.
