Affordable Quality MBBS Education at ASMC Pratapgarh

Experience in this college is good. We have all the basic facilities as well as some good faculties. I chose this college over others as this college offers greater infrastructure as well as good teaching staff. The difference between this college and other colleges, which serves, as a medium to become a doctor is that our college has high level of unity and one of the finest facilities are being served in ASMC Pratapgarh.

The course chosen by me as MBBS, which makes you, doctor. The motive for enrolling in the same as that you could serve the public and help in making someone's life best. Eligibility criteria or entry is by NEET UG exam which is conducted every year and according to which every students get their dream college. The admission occurs through the counseling process, which takes place sometimes online and sometimes offline too. The frequency of exams in this course are pretty often as we all have to study throughout the year to pass out the yearly exam, which occurs at the end of every year. Moving Forward, the semester end that take in every 3 months approximately. This course makes you prepare for the real life challenges as last year or we call as the internship along with 4 years gives you hospital exposure. This also helps in inculcating abilities within you.

The year wise total fee is about Rs. 85,000. It comprises of tuition fee of around Rs. 65,000 and sports and infrastructure fees of around Rs. 20,000. The other additional expenses our taken mostly in the first year only.

The faculty members of different departments are pretty different. The department of Microbiology has pretty good faculty. Pharmacology faculty is average. The background of the faculties are pretty clear, as they are well-educated doctors who take of the students as well. The teaching method mostly includes using PPTs and the group discussions. The problem solving abilities of the faculties are good as it should be. Teachers to student ratio needs to be improved, as there are around 2 to 3 teachers per 150 students.

In MBBS, there is no such thing as placement. The only thing that matters is how good one’s score is in NEET PG exam or INICET exams which occurs after you complete your MBBS degree. After that, you could apply for super specialty or you could purse you lecturing in medical colleges along with your own clinics and working in hospitals.

ASMC Pratapgarh offers residential facilities, as there are two types of hostels, one for girls, and one for boys. In boy’s hostel, there are two types of hostels, which is one for junior resident doctors, and one for the medical college students. The food quality is average and hygiene is also average. The hostel fees is around Rs. 20,000 to 30,000 as per student on which seat he or she is. The girl’s hostel is closed by 10:00 PM. My experience on staying in the hostel is pretty good. Hostel is pretty crowdy, which makes it even more special as at night we all can sit together and jam to songs. We could start bonfire and discuss various topics of life and politics while sitting around it. The medical college’s hostel life is one to remember for a lifetime and is what a student dream of after coming in a medical college.

The campus academic blocks are huge which comprises of academic section as well as lecture theatres. These lecture theaters have a capacity of around 200 students. It is a 5-floored building, which comprises of different departments on each floor. There is library available in each academic block. There is also a big lecture theatre, which could also be used as a seminar hall or conference Hall also. We do not have a canteen in a college still but the security and other facilities are pretty good as there are guards on the main gates. The favorite part is always sports complex for students. It is the only place where we could relax and chill with friends and seniors. The lecture theatres comprise of a projector along with modern computers and benches for the students.

Campus life is as good that a medical student could dream of the college. There are clubs and I am not part of any of these as my parents told me to avoid these. There is the ‘Piñata’ med fest, which occurs once every year, which is a new experience for juniors and an exciting experience for the seniors. There are different sport competitions in this med fest and cultural activities. This makes students participate and engage in the extracurricular activities as well.
