Student Life and Opportunities at UCER Greater Noida

Infrastructure of United College of Engineering & Research is somewhat good as it has got large building. The classes are spacious and there is sufficient large corridor. Land acquisition of college is great. It is spread in almost 25 acres of land. There are 2 large grounds and have plenty of space to play any sport or spend time in campus with friends. College has little low amount of students as compared to other neighboring colleges which is great. This makes great student-teacher interaction. Also due to the same reason students get ample of opportunities to learn and grow in sports dance, lab, etc.

United College of Engineering & Research’s curriculum is relevant according to me. There is web designing workshop and labs for website development and date structure as subject in 2nd year which is really good for B.Tech CSE students. They also have mini project in which we as a group of 4 students made an IOT project of automatic shopping cart in 2nd semester. In 2nd year we have java and python which is great for coding knowledge, if any student studies well and hard their entire syllabus. He will be both great in academic and placement. Only areas of impotents are labs, college that must use latest technology in labs and there are many old types of equipment in labs. The frequency of exams is too long as the University theory exams of semester happen after 5 months which is a long time.

Fee structure of B.Tech (Computer science and Engineering) at United College of Engineering & Research is Rs. 1,29,000 (per year) for all 4 years of engineering. Extra Rs. 1,000 registration fee is added in first year fee. The fee for general, OBC, SC, ST, all are the same. The students who choose FW (Fee Waiver) seats during choice filing in UPTAC (Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counseling) have the fee Rs. 50,000 per year for their B.Tech. [Only students who take admission through UPTAC counseling are eligible for fee waiver). Now, only students who have not allotted FW seats in counseling are eligible for UP Scholarship by Uttar Pradesh government. After all verification by college a scholarship of almost Rs. 50,000 is allotted to students per year. The scholarship amount may vary from year to year by government.

There are two sections in B.Tech computer and science engineering at United College of Engineering & Research. In 2nd year and three sections each section consists of 60 students. In 1st year faculty to students are great, almost there is one faculty member for 12 students. Some faculties are really great and are so easily approachable. You can call them or text those for doubt solving or any guidance, and some of them are not good like 2 or 3 faculty members. As per my knowledge the teachers have done Ph.D are so good like math professor or physics professor or electronics professors but faculty member who did only M.Tech and came for teaching are not so good. They sometime confuses in classes during teaching and do not answer students doubts properly like math and physics professor. They are really good as they are extremely amazing but electrical or chemistry professor teach average. You have to study from YouTube to understand their topic. In one semester there are two sessions taken by college exam of 30 marks and 70 marks. There is one internal practical exam of 50 marks and one external exam of 50 marks of each subject. Students can pass these exams easily. The course curriculum is relevant. It was updated in 2023.

Placements of United College of Engineering & Research are somewhat good. There are very limited amount of students so chance of getting placed is higher. After 6th semester students are eligible for campus placements, mainly start up of Delhi. I don’t have any idea about highest package but average is 5 LPA. I think percentage of student getting placed is above 50%. My plan after getting the degree is to apply for off campus job opportunities.

The hostels in United College of Engineering & Research have 3 blocks for boys and 1 separate building for girls. The name of the hostel is MOTHER TERESA. The facilities in the hostel are the meal of four time including breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner. The hostel provides a bucket, a mug, a bed sheet, a table along with a chair with an Elmira which has good space for storing clothes and other goods. The meals of the hostel are good like the other hostel and PG and the menu is changing every day. The registration process of hostel charges Rs. 5,000 which is included in hostel fee. Currently the hostel fee is Rs. 1,15,000 from which 30% is given at the time of coming and next 35% is paid after 45 days of first installment. The remaining 35% is given after 45 days. The faculty members of the hostel are good. The cleaning staff comes daily to clean rooms and washrooms.

There are total four block of college campus including two large grounds and plenty of tech workshops that are held in each semester. First fest is generally held in the month of last December and second fest is held in July august. In each semester there are plenty of workshops held like python, coding, workshop, resume building, workshop, etc. CISCO cyber security workshop and many more. The library is overall good. It has all books of semester exams and other edition of books. Journal and newspaper are updated regularly and on the basis on it the library is organized. Classes with smart projector are there to help students understand some topics better. Sports facilities are available in college. You can take sports equipment from college and play in college. Overall locality where college is placed is also great.

United College of Engineering & Research does not have too many fests and technical festivals. There are 2 festivals that are organized per year. One of them is cultural festival and other is about any coding workshop. The books and newspapers and journals are available in the library. Technologies in classes are average. It has projector and smart classes, sports and extracurricular sports that are average. You can get sports items from college to play in grounds. There are no such major clubs in college but students form their groups and make projects and discuss programs, it has good environment.
