Views of an Aviation Student in ISHM Kolkata

Overall Rating
ISHM Kolkata is a good college. The faculty members and the teachers are highly qualified, well experienced, and knowledgeable. I opt for BBA in Aviation Management as a major. the reason why I chose this college is because of the training facility the college provides like airport visit, ground training, on air flying experience, fire fighting and how to handle real life emergencies, etc. and this is the reason why I chose this college over other colleges.
 

Academics Rating
I chose BBA in Aviation Management. The entry requirements are very easy. The eligibility criteria for a student is to have 50% or above in their higher secondary board exams. College will provide you with counselor who will help you through your admission process. It is a 3-year course with 6 semesters, each semester takes place in every 6 months and in every 2 months summative exam is held. Exams are easy because each and every thing is been taught in the classes.
In the first year of the college, the course fee is around Rs. 1,70,000. In second year of the college, the course fee is Rs. 1,10,000. In the third year of the college, the course fee is Rs. 1,10,000. Therefore, the total course fee is Rs. 3,90,000.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties of the college are well experienced and knowledgeable. They create a positive classroom atmosphere, their teaching style is interactive and engaging, and the bond between the faculty members and students is very strong and friendly. Some of the faculty members are from Aviation industry background so they share their experience of professional lifestyle in the industry while teaching so we have a clear picture and what challenges we could face.
 

Placement Rating
Students are eligible for internships and placement once they complete their 5th semester.
 

Hostel Rating
College does not provide with hostel facilities. We have got lots of PGs available nearby the college. The rent is also reasonable it can vary from Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 10,000.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure is good. It is designed as per the requirement of students. The college has its own library for students with different varieties of books, textbooks, storybooks, journal, etc. Students can issue books from the library using library card. College also has various labs like F&B Service lab, Aviation lab, Front Office lab, etc. Each classroom has been provided with screen projector for digital and practical learning.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life in ISHM Kolkata is very good in my opinion. In every course, there is an average of 50 students. There are several extracurricular activities organized by the college like Housekeeping week, Fashion week, Grooming week, Cake mixing ceremony, etc. Festivals like Republic day, Independence day, Puja Celebrations, etc. are celebrated in the college campus. The students get to showcase their talent, which gives them opportunity to make connections and create lasting memories.
