Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences is affiliated to RGUHS Bangalore. It is located in the national highway of Mangalore. The city is well known for its medical acquaintances. It’s a commonly visited place for health purposes. Hence being here gives the students a proper medical rotation and well exposure to patients. The classes and techniques of teaching at our institute are top notch. It introduces us to modern dentistry with well developed techniques and also gets us used to manual dentistry. The institute has many inter institute and department fests for the entertainment of students. There are also many conferences and presentations, which provide a good look into the course. There are good placements from the institute.

Dentistry is the perfect course for a student who is interested in Science, Medicine, and Art. It gives proper understanding and learning about medicine. There course also has equal parts of Arts. The student should be good with handwork, as there are many manual lab practicals in the course. Hence, this was the major reason for me to choose dentistry. Students can take admission in different ways. There are management seats and self aided seats along with government seats. The admission process includes, referring your previous board results, along with personal and group discussions. It also has entrance exam which you are supposed to clear to get admitted to the institute. We have annual or final exam at the end of every academic year. It covers the entire topics of the year for syllabus. There are also 3 internal examinations conducted by the institute. Clearing at least two of the exams is necessary to get eligible for the annual exams. The institute prepares you well for the real life challenges with proper postings at each of the departments of the institute. This gives you a clear idea bout each department of dentistry.

The fee structure for Bachelor’s in Dentistry for management seats stretches upto 16 Lakh for the entire course duration. This covers only the tuition fee. The hostel fee, accommodation, dental supplements, and examination fee are to be paid separately. The tuition fee for private or management seat is 16 Lakh. It is paid as 4 Lakh per year for 4 consecutive years. The internship period is free of cost. The fees for ST/SC classes are reduced. It has a reduced fee scheme. Scholarships and merit seats are also available.

The faculties of Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences are top notch. The methods of teaching are very interesting. There are debates, seminars, presentations, and conferences. This helps in proper understanding of the topics. The classes are mostly taken in visual forms. Mostly in presentations and demonstrations. Post graduate doctors and professors conduct the classes often. The timing is from 8 in morning to 4 at evening. The classes are from Monday to Saturday every week. There are theoretical and lab classes every day.

Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences provides 3 shared bedrooms with an attached bathroom at hostel. There are separate hostels for girls and boys. The mess and menu includes both veg and non-veg options. Laundry and cleaning is provided by the hostel. The hostels have a strict timing for entry and exit. Students are not allowed to exit the hostel after 6:30 PM at evening. Taking leave from the hostel should be mentioned prior and proper letter with superior signature should be submitted before exit.

The academics of the institute are really great. It is situated at the highway to Manipal, hence making it easy to travel to both Manipal and Mangalore central. The locality near the institute includes mostly Karnataka’s. The local language here is Kannada. There are many students from various corners of the country. Their classrooms are huge and can accommodate around 200 students. There are projectors as well as blackboards. Facilities like library are available. Every necessity books are available in the library. Labs, seminar halls, lecture halls, and common rooms are present. There are canteens in the institute with lunch and breakfast options.

The campus life is pretty good in the institute. There are no personal restrictions in the institute. We are supposed to maintain a good percentage of attendance and proper submission if works. The staffs don’t indulge into your personal life at any point. The institute is very crowded with students from different parts of the country. There are cultural fests, inter institute competitions, sports meet and many other interactive fun sessions.
