Learning Environment at IBI Greater Noida for PGDM

Hey guys, I am a student at I Business Institute currently pursuing PGDM. By far my overall experience at the Institute is quite good and I feel that IBI can be the best choice for those students who are interested in practical knowledge gaining and want to focus on studies to make a good career ahead. I choose this particular institute because MBA is more of a theoretical based course and this institute is a PGDM institute which provides a practical learning environment. Our exams are also held on laptop and from the very first day the institute aim's to make us corporate ready. People who want to make a good career in corporate should choose this institute as they have various key advantages to learn from this institute like - Corporate mentor sessions, Live projects for practical field exposure, etc. The one thing which is different in this institute as compared to others is that the institute take us for international and domestic trip in order to gain exposure and practical learning from the environment there, plus whenever the session starts for new batch they organise a 45 days orientation session which is full of learning having various corporate session and activities for students to get familiar with the institute, faculty as well as to enhance their learning.

I've chosen PGDM course at I Business Institute as this course fosters practical learning compared to MBA students should choose this course if they want to make themselves corporate ready from the beginning since they can get habitual in using software’s, laptop's and working on fields. The Eligibility criteria for this institute is that one can get admission on the basis of 50% or above percentile in CAT / MAT / XAT / GMAT / CMAT, etc. or any entrance exams, scholarships are also provided for the same. If one hasn't appeared for any entrance exam they can get admission on basis of their 10th, 12th and graduation marks plus there will be 6 rounds of interviews which will be conducted by the institute faculty, Deen, director, etc. Admission process is quite easy after interviews you will get mail regarding the selection and then you can proceed with further formalities and visit the institute. The frequency of exam is - the course includes trimesters which are of 3 months each and for 1 trimester there is one mid semester exam and one end semester exam both on online mode in laptop. Academics prepare us well for real life challenges as the mode of giving exams is online it helps in increasing our typing speed and our knowledge is enhanced since we make notes also on laptop so we get skilled in using Microsoft word, excel, etc. which are the basics of corporate field.

The fee structure is as follows – Firstly Rs. 75,000 has to be paid at the time of admission. Then installment 1 is of Rs. 2, 50,000 which has to be paid within 15 days of registration. Then Installment 2 is again of Rs. 2, 50,000. Installment 3 is of Rs. 1, 60,000 and installment 4 is also of Rs. 1, 60,000 so the total comes to Rs. 8, 95,000 which includes 4 installments. The scholarships are also provided based on your score in CAT / MAT or entrance exam also there are scholarships on the basis of 10th, 12th, graduation and for girl students. Various scholarships are there in I Business Institute for which the students can talk to the Admission Team.

The faculty members teaching at I Business Institute presently are excellent to be very honest. They are very well educated Ph.D teachers also some are IIT+IIM some have retired from Big 4 and good brand corporate companies. The teaching method includes ppts, group discussions, extempore, real life case studies, video based learning, etc. Faculties are well educated and have good problem solving abilities they are able to connect problems to real world and find solutions which are relevant for today's world they are well aware of current trend. The teacher student’s ratio is approx. 13 teachers and 260 students. Teachers are less in numbers because they have the best staff honestly; this is the best thing about the institute. Faculty members especially the Directors, Deen's are all very approachable, they are helpful and kind and always ready to help. It is a student oriented institute and they always listen to our issues and resolve them in the best possible manner. So teacher student thing is the most satisfactory.

The placement cell at I Business Institute is quite active. And it helps students by organising live projects for field and practical learning exposure for them, providing internships for 2 months after 1st year and then finally providing final placements during 2nd year. Renowned companies that visit the institute for recruitment are Amazon, Deloitte, KPMG, Dabur, Amul, LG, EY, Nestle etc. The average package offered is 21LPA and the highest package offered is 50LPA some students have also been placed internationally. And there are total 500 + recruiters. I am a first year I've not been placed yet but currently I am doing a live project in Reliance smartbazar and I literally thank our placement team for this opportunity as it is benefiting us in making us understand how field work happens and how do u interact with customers and engage them according to their requirements.

Yes, the institute offers residential facilities like hostel but it is not in institute premises. It is approx. 1Km away from institute though cab and bus facilities are available and included in the fee. Girls and boys are having separate hostels. The rooms of hostels are quite average. Mess offers 4 meals a day to the hostellers and these are morning, lunch, dinner meal, and evening snacks. the quality and hygiene is satisfactory. Hostel fee has to be paid annually which is approx. Rs. 1, 20,000. Timings are that after 9:00 PM entry is not allowed in hostel. Hostel has facilities like Wi-Fi, laundry, gym, indoor games, etc.

There is one building for the academic block. The strength of students is only 260 in a batch. the campus size is small since this campus has only one course PGDM and it is not a big university which offers various courses. The classrooms are good, neat clean and spacious. Each classroom has AC which is a best thing in hot summers. The institute has a good library where almost all the current and previous resources are available and one can easily issue books if they want to. There is a computer lab also and an auditorium with wide space in IBI as it has a good seating capacity and double storied space having relaxing chairs. The conference hall is also there where usually the group discussions classes are held on a round table. My favorite part of the institute infrastructure being a girl is, girl's common room. As it has comfortable couches, bean bags, mirror ac and is one of the comfiest space to relax. There is also a facility to access the world's book bank through free access to digital library.

Overall campus life at I Business Institute is not too exciting as there are no big grounds to explore. The campus is small, sober and beautiful as students are less in number the campus is also built accordingly. Institute crowd is good. people here are from different regions, backgrounds, religions so there is a diverse variety to explore and get exposure. Yes there are different clubs like bulls and bears for finance, for marketing, HR, IT, etc. For each specialisation there are club activities also which are being organised in every trimester. Yes, I'm a part of marketing club. The extracurricular activities include club activities, apart from this, sports event are also conducted which is inter institute and the main event which our institute conducts is Ronak which is inter institute cultural event. All the festivals including Lohri, Diwali, Christmas, etc. are celebrated in the institute. The campus life experience of mine is satisfactory by far since my focus is on studies and getting a good placement and not on the size of the campus. So, I'm satisfied since the institute is giving good placements to seniors currently.
