Placement Opportunities and Challenges at DHSGSU Sagar

Dr. Hari Singh Gour University is spreading in approx. 1300 acres. It's surrounded in hilly area or green forests also provides very good atmosphere and peaceful environment for students but the things I like and I dislike are mentioned ahead. Pros: It's Affordable - the university offers affordable education, with fees significantly lower than those of private institutions and colleges. It has excellent infrastructure: - The campus has Canteens, Libraries, Hostel for male and female separately and a medical which providing a comfortable environment for students. There are Supportive faculty members. The faculty members including teachers, students and other staff are so much helpful and focused on student growth. As per my view here is a slow administrative process, including exam result delays and admission procedures where admission for freshers takes time because of CUET entrance exam and the admission is going to be based on cut off and merit secured. There are limited placement opportunities. The university placement opportunities are limited especially for B.Com type courses. students have to achieve 8.0+ CGPA and maintain it. In mid exams specially Mid 1 it's just like a final exam if you didn't prepare you will get even 1/20 marks, Mid 2 is best for scoring out of 20 due to file and oral test only and then in final exam they don’t give you more that 1 day leave between the exams. For every subject you only get 1 day leave for preparation of exam in 1 day which is extremely hard and challenging as per my view.

I am taking B.Com Bachelor of Commerce because I want to go for the banking job. For entry or admission at Dr. Harisingh Gour University in any UG or PG courses you need to give entrance exam called as Common University Entrance Test which is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). If you are not giving that exam then you are unable to take admission here. And for library you need to make a library pass or needs student ID otherwise you are unable to take entry in library.

At Dr. Harisingh Gour University, for Bachelor of Commerce, there are 6 semesters. Every semester fees is same that is Rs. 2,500 registration fees for semester and Rs. 800 for examination fees. But if you are a SC, ST or OBC category student you will get Rs. 7,000 as scholarship for Education, Rent, and Food and, Travel each semester. you just have to renew it every semester.

About faculty, teachers at Dr. Harisingh Gour University are so much supportive as, if there is any Hindi medium student then teacher will translate the English to Hindi for those students who are not able to understand English language properly. Even students also can teach students if they have more than 9.5 CGPA in continuous 3 semesters as an intern.

Placements at Dr. Harisingh Gour University for Bachelor of Commerce are limited and only for those students who are score 8.0+ CGPA and maintain it. The participants companies are like Wipro, Tesla, Mac Book, Swiggy, Ola, Zoom, and more.

Hostel is different for both males and females in different areas and safe. The hostels of Dr. Harisingh Gour University have the same facilities like food, playground, roof, room, good environment and more. As per my experience each room is shared with 3 students including 2+1 which have bathroom, two rooms and the attached medium kitchen. About food there is chapatti, rice, daal, 12 type of sabji for which the price is Rs. 90 daily per 2 meals a day. But out of 12 sabji any 2 random sabji you will get as per day system like Monday, Tuesday. But daal, chapatti and Rice is for daily but about the taste I would say that the food here is good. Timing for hostel is 4 A.M to 10 P.M.

The campus size of Dr. Harisingh Gour University is around approx 1300 acres. It is located in hilly area and has an excellent environment with a good quality of air. Dr. Harisingh Gour University has different amenities and facilities for the students to use, some of these are Library, 2 seminar halls, Auditorium, 1 conference hall for the B.Com students, etc. you will get Canteens called as TAPRI and it’s famous over here. The name tapri sounds funny but it's where you will able to have food or any computer related help and services. Overall campus of Dr. Harisingh Gour University having some more buildings like department of law, department of Persian language, Department of commerce my department, and few more. There is also a ground in the campus with proper sitting facilities for the students to relax.

There are no clubs in Dr. Harisingh Gour University and I think this is a point where the university lacks. Different festivals are also celebrated in the university. Along with this several events are also conducted here and students can participate in any fest or event of their choice. I have not participated in any event or fest organised here. At least 3 events were organised in Dr. Harisingh Gour University in a year. I would more focus towards studies and would like to say that I my overall experience at the university have been good till now.
