Himalayan University Itanagar's B.Sc Agriculture

My overall experience at Himalayan University is good. I chose this university over others because it is affordable. The faculties of the university are very experienced. The university has well developed infrastructure. It organizes multiple seminars & events for the students to learn something new. It also collaborates with other organizations for training programs to develop the student’s knowledge.

The course, which I chose is B.Sc Agriculture. It is a 4-year course where we learn about crop cultivation, about soil required to grow vegetables, etc. The reason I chose this course is because of the scope it has in present and future. There are no requirements or criteria for admission. You can come physically in Himalayan University and fill up form for admission three exams are held per semester.

The fee structure is in a following way: tuition fee is Rs. 18,500, registration fee is Rs. 2,000, exam fee is Rs. 4,000 and other charges are Rs. 1,000 per semester, Total fee is Rs. 25,500 and yearly, it is Rs. 51,000. State and National scholarships are available for students.

The faculties are very skilled and experienced in teaching. some of them are very approachable. The faculty members are PhD holders in their respective subjects. They teach in the white boards, PPTs, and group discussion. the problem solving abilities of faculties are average. My experience with the teachers is overall good. The bonding with teachers is also good.

The campus is very big. the blocks are very far from each other. there are two big buildings for different departments and one small building for Nursing department, one building for library, canteen, etc. Academic facilities like library, labs, seminar hall, auditorium, conference hall. etc. are available in the premises. CCTVs are installed in for security. the campus has big field for playing sports, and private bus is for transportation. Facilities like agriculture field, power tillers etc. complement my academic experience.

The overall campus life is good. Although, there are some things to be improved. The university is crowded by student’s vehicles. Engagement activities like departmental picnics, field tours, events, and festival celebrations are organized by the university. Annual sport weeks is organized in the campus. The campus life can be tiresome and exhausting but you can play badminton in the evening after the classes along with other sports like football, cricket, etc.
