My Academic and Campus Life Experiences at The Heritage College

Overall Rating
I have been at The Heritage College for about three years during the course of which I have met many capable faculty members, who are extremely helpful and friendly. They encouraged me in every aspect of life and were extremely supportive. They make sure to complete the syllabus before exams. The college has bus facilities, good labs; air conditioned libraries, and hygienic food. The campus vibes are perfect; you can go and sit outside during off classes. They have a huge access to journals and academic papers and overall it was a comfortable experience.
 

Academics Rating
I have chosen B.Sc Chemistry as my course. I wanted to pursue forensics later in life and I feel this is the right first step towards that direction. Eligibility is fairly easy with only having to score 60% in your class 12th boards. They have an online application form and they have Rs. 500 as application form fee. This college follows the Calcutta university curriculum and the exams take place accordingly. The college has various seminars, with the most frequent one being on women's day which also help us with our challenges.
The yearly fee at The Heritage College for my course is around Rs. 69,000 and per semester fee is Rs. 33,000 per semester. Admission and caution fees are Rs. 10,000 each, in which the caution fee is refundable. Special discounts are given to SC / ST category students and from this year scholarships are also available for students scoring above a certain percentage in boards.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members have a Ph.D in their respective subjects. They solve any problems that are given to them in a short span of time. They always complete the syllabus at time and are very helpful. They can be approached anytime. There are 3 permanent and at least 2 visiting professors. My experience with them is very friendly and they are one of the main reasons I stayed in this college.
 

Placement Rating
Wipro and TCS visit The Heritage College for recruiting students. Regular emails are sent regarding information about placements, and job fairs are also conducted here. However, I'm not interested in the placement and hence have no further information.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, they offer residential facilities for the students. However, since I don't require them I'm not really sure about the information. There are three girls’ hostels in our campus, and the boy’s hostel is outside the campus. Food is good and the timings are also manageable.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The locality is a bit offbeat and not really accessible at all times. However buses are available and they have autos around the college. There are 4 floors; each floor is dedicated to particular subjects. Air conditioned libraries are there with a wide range of books and journals accessible to students. Canteen has good food and sports meet take place twice a year. We have smart boards in every class of The Heritage College.
 

Campus Rating
I have a very poor campus life since I'm busy with labs and classes half of the time. Fests and events are a regular thing here with students taking part from all years. There are clubs organised in the college for dance, music, art, drama, photography, sports, etc. I myself am a part of the dance club however it is not really active. College crowd is good with students coming in from various respectable families.

    The Heritage College is certainly a "College with a difference". This college was inaugurated in 2016. Within 3 years the college has shown excellent results in academic and co-curricular as well. I am currently pursuing B.Sc Chemistry Honors (Batch 2021) from this college.
