Overall Rating
Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences is renowned and a government medical institute that is 15 years old. The institute is in Imphal and the campus is well established with library, cafeteria, equipped hospitals, stores, public canteen, and banking service as well. The teachers are quite friendly and the classrooms are well designed with all basic amenities. Hostels are also provided to the students. The institute offers both UG and PG courses.
 

Academics Rating
The strictness of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences makes it a good environment for thorough study. The institute is very strict regarding the attendance and the study is similar to any other medical institutes. Laboratories are there with all equipment, dissection halls are huge with well supplied dissecting bodies. Academically, the staffs are very supportive and smart study is being done. Lecture halls are spacious and the student capacity for MBBS is 150, whereas for dental institute it is 50.
Fees at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences are not that High being a government Aided Institution. The admission fee for first year is Rs. 47,000 and for all other years it is Rs. 27,000.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences are all doctors and from other paramedical fields as well. They are very well behaved and are always supportive. Although here's regional language is Manipuri yet faculty can speak both Hindi and English. The professors are very good and there way of teaching is simple. Teachers help us in practical works also. Most of the times PG students and interns guide us thorough the practical. Seminars are also conducted here for gaining a better understanding on the topics.
 

Placement Rating
As of any other medical institute you can do internship from Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences after passing the final year, and salary now provided is Rs. 20,000. Next you can open your clinic or can pursue for higher degree.
 

Hostel Rating
The Hostels at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences are very good with spacious rooms, toilets, hygienic mess and terrace is also there. Our hostel is four storeyed building, for boys they have 3 hostels and one of them belongs to the interns with 2 storeyed building.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences has a cafeteria with very tasty foods options. The library closes at 8pm in the night. There’s a big playground with basketball court and badminton court. The institute have it' gym facility also and like any other institute it is very active in cultural and sports events. The Auditorium is very big where many cultural events and institute fest known as institute week is organised. For big medical seminars and for other celebrations, the auditorium is used. The hospitals are clean with a dispensary and canteen functions as well.
 

Campus Rating
The campus of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences is very beautiful. Mountains can be seen from the campus giving a soothing effect. There are many campaigns and celebration is being done in the campus like World AIDS Day, Oral Health Day, Blood Donation Camps, etc. Every year at 5 days institute fest is organised known as Institute Week where 4 houses i.e., red, blue, green, and yellow fight for the championship trophy through many cultural, literature and sports events.
