My College Life in PPSU Surat: Academics, Activities, & Placements

Overall Rating
This is one of top university to choose to if you live in Gujarat. It has the best infrastructure as well as knowledgeable faculty. The university follows up to date curriculum and standards for students. Moreover, the university has diverse crowd. The placement is also great. As of now, it still lacking in some departments since it is still fairly new university. The infrastructure is good. In terms of activities, fest and cultural event truly shine in this university. In order to attend exams, students need to maintain 75% attendance and no due in fee.
 

Academics Rating
Academic wise, the university conducts 2 internal exams and one external exam. Each internal exam is of 30 marks and external exam is of 60 marks. 10 marks are given on the basis of faculty evaluation. Getting good marks is quite easy if you are well prepared and follow proper planning. If students maintain 75% attendance, they have many impediments including the fact that they can follow the syllabus to get good grades.
In this university, fee of Rs. 50,000 per semester for hostel. Apart from this, for hostel, you also have to pay minimum of Rs. 20,000 as security deposit along with other charges.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties are well trained in their respective fields. They are PhD graduates from reputed universities. My class coordinator Abijeet Panchal was one of the best class coordinator. He guided us throughout the journey and helped us to be placed in reputed company. Most of faculty uses PPT. Some faculty members also conduct other activities for teaching. They are good speakers and communicators.
 

Placement Rating
Placement of this university is quite decent. You have pay Rs. 5,000 to apply for placement, which can be claimed back. Highest CTC offered is 10 LPA and average is around 2 LPA. I myself got placement through university. This university is still under development and there will be improvement in terms of placement in the near future. The training they provide during placement can be better.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, university offers residential facilities. There is one hostel for boys, one for girls, and one for staff. The hostels are decent but might be expensive for some students. The mess is located away from the hostels but food is decent. Hostel has strict rules. Any kind of drug is strictly prohibited. In timing for girls is 10 PM. In the hostel, we have concerts of Sanam and Darshan Raval.
 

Infrastructure Rating
PPSU Surat has 200 acres of land so it has kind of big campus. The campus looks aesthetic, especially architecture building. We have library, labs, seminar hall, and auditorium, conference hall of decent size and seating capacity. We have cricket ground, basketball court, tennis court, cricket net stadium, and concert stadium. Other university comes to play in our campus. Every class has centralized AC and every building has tennis court. Hygiene is kind of maintained in canteen. Timing for canteen at night 8 PM to 9 PM, which is too early.
 

Campus Rating
My campus life was quite decent. I made some good friends and studied well with group. I also attended various festivals and events like Kalakooj that is one the best events conducted in PPSU Surat. Other events like sniggering are also organized. I participated in debates, was member of GDSC club, and participated in other activities.

    PPSU lies on the National Highway between Ahmedabad and Mumbai around 56 kilometers from Surat. The campus area is 100 acres and the campus is still under construction. I have recently joined this University and so far my experience has been good. The faculties seem good and they are well experienced.     My overall experience in the university is fun and I enjoyed a lot. I had studied many subjects. I had gained a lot of practical based knowledge. At P P Savani University by paying less money we are able to get many facilities. There are many other facilities which make our task easier and make our life smoother such as well equipped infrastructure. I had no complains with transport facilities they are on time.     I would recommend this university if and only if you are happy traveling for more than 70 kilometers in a day and you do not get tired, because to reach the university requires traveling of more than 3 hours if you use a private traveling vehicle and 4 hours if you use the transportation facility provided by the university.     Since I live in Surat, there are no such good colleges for engineering on which we can depend as basis of placements. Yes, there are colleges like SCET, SVNIT But that is asking for too high scored result and for the normal student with average marks it's really difficult to get admission, so I choose P.P.
