Internship and Placement Opportunities at VIT-AP University

Overall experience is decent, including academic life. Students are friendly, and faculties are approachable. I chose this university as it is a way better option than a state private university. Well, let me share one thing with you that, I attempted few engineering entrance exams and my score was decent in every exam. However, in VITEEE, my score was a bit better and because that I was getting CSE branch with that score.

I was always interested and excited to learn Computer Science. I love to code, and this is the reason I chose CSE core. If you are interested in any of the VIT branch, you have to attempt VITEEE exam. During counseling, based on your rank, university and category will be allotted to you considering your preferences. For CSE core with category 1 (lowest fees). The cutoff is around AIR 22000. In each semester, there will be 3 exams, CAT1, CAT2, and FAT (final). For Labs, one LABFAT will be there right before theory FAT.

As I earlier mentioned that category, 1 has the lowest fee structure, so it goes until category 5, which has the highest. Mine is category 1, and my tuition fee is Rs. 1,98,000 per year. One of my friends is from category 2 and his tuition fee is Rs. 2,50,000. For category 3, it is Rs. 3,50,000. Right now, there is not any scholarship program offered by the institute, but may be in the future the institute will bring it.

Talking about faculty, so almost 90% of the faculties are skilled in their respective disciplines. All the faculties are PhD holders from top institutes of India like IITs and NITs. Usually, here faculty use PPTs and white board for teaching, they often discuss concepts with students also. As I mentioned that, they are well qualified and skilled, so they are good at solving the problem of the students. The student to teacher ratio in VIT-AP is 20:1 which is a decent and good ratio. Faculties are approachable and always ready to help you out.

VIT-AP University provides internships and placements for 3rd and 4th year students. For now, the placement performance is average, but it is being improved year by year. From beginning of the 3rd year, placement cell starts training classes for students to help them improving personality and communication. Well, the placements are centralized, as students from all 4 campuses will be placed together. Companies like Microsoft, JP Morgan, and Amazon etc. visited in the placement drives, and from VIT-AP, 7 students were placed in Microsoft, and 5 students were interns in Amazon.

Hostel facilities are being provided by the university. As it is a new campus, hostels are so nice. Boys and girls’ hostels are separated and are distant from each other. According to hosteller friends, mess food is decent, but it varies with hostel to hostel, like MH3 and MH4 has a good food taste but not so for MH5 and CB. For 4-bedded Non-AC, fee is around Rs. 1,20,000 per year including mess, and for AC it is Rs. 1,50,000.

University's infrastructure is decent and good. Campus size is around 200 acres. There are three blocks: Central Block, Academic Block 1, and Academic block 2. They are planning to build Academic Block 3 also, but it may take some time. Library has centralized AC; it is well organized with all types of books, articles, and journals. Labs are also good but computers in CS lab are quite slow so they need to look into that.

Campus life is also good in VIT-AP. Students are very good to each other. You will find people from different region of India but yet the crowd is very mutual understandable to each other without any conflict. Talking about the clubs, as I said that people from different cultures are there, so all of them have their cultural clubs, and with that technical and academic clubs are also there. Almost every week, there will be an engagement activity, like seminars, expert talk on some important topic, coding activities etc. Fests are so beautiful. The annual fest of the university is called VITOPIA, and it is so enthusiastic & memorable.
