Varanasi College of Pharmacy M.Pharm Review By Akshay Mishra

There are only two programs in Varanasi College of Pharmacy which means that it does not have a huge campus. Campus is small but the learning here is best for the students in budget. Fee for the M. Pharma course is Rs. 60,000. College also provides many facilities for the student i.e. free Wi-Fi, Transportation Service, Hostels, career counseling. Institute is affiliated to AKTU University and their courses are AICTE aggregated. I choose this institute because it is dedicated towards pharmacy course and also provides good placements to the students. I feel that is my reason is applicable to you then you should join the institute. Also one more think campus is filled with quality faculty members. Since college is dedicated to just pharmacy courses hence it also provide training and gives internship opportunities for the students without any extra charge.

Master of Pharmacy is a post graduate level course that is why to enroll in this course one must have done their B. Pharma from any recognized university. Admissions in this college are done on the basis of merit and cutoff is decided by the college management. When I took admission in the institute cutoff was 70 percent marks in B. Pharma without any active backlog. Admission forms are available at the college reception and then after some formality, fee has to be submitted in full or in two parts. I choose in this course because I have done B.Pharma and I did not get job after B. Pharma, So to upgrade my knowledge I join the institute. Course duration is 2 years and there are 4 semester. To qualify each semester there is university exam and after that practical happen.

Faculty in Varanasi College of Pharmacy are good and very well qualified and all of them have vast experience of teaching and many teachers are teaching from the college establishment. All the teachers are very supportive and provide good knowledge and teach us every concept with great depth and also teach us about the industry requirement and how to prepare for the placements from college. Teacher also gives us knowledge about the opportunities after M. Pharma and job in government sector. All the faculty members have done their research in their own respective medicine fields. Teaching style of the teacher is good in theory and practical subjects also. Some teachers take extra classes to cover syllabus for the university examination if the syllabus is incomplete.

Yes, The cell for the placement and training is here in the institute and it brings companies to the institute and it does not charge students for the placements. Placement and training institute provides industry training for the students such that they can be selected in the recruitment drives. In my batch highest package was Rs. 12 LPA offered by Cipla but it was off campus which means it was not through college and students get the placement by himself. Average package was of Rs. 1.8 LPA and most of the jobs offer was of Medicine Representative but some of the jobs were good with the package of 6 LPA. Placement percentage was good in my batch 80 percent students got placed in my class including myself.

I did not opt for the hostel because I was going to college from my home. But many friends of mine had taken the hostels. College hostel provides facilities like they give free Wi-Fi for the hostellers and give almirah in the room with table and one bed. Meal was also good as compared to their previous hostel experience. Hostel fee was also not so high, it was Rs. 60,000 per year. Rooms were 2 seater. But students have to give the whole hostel fee at once.

College just has one huge academic block for the students. All classes are run in only one building. There are two hostels in the campus. Reason for the less building is that college does not have the many programs yet it has only offer two programs in which seats are also limited that is why there are not many building in the campus. College has a big sports ground for the sports and functional event. Labs in the Academic block are best and the maintenance of the labs is amazing. Institute has limited resources but it utilizes them in very effective manner. There is a big library in the institute which has all the pharmacy books and newly published journals. Classrooms have very beautiful interior which all the facilities in the classrooms.

Life in VCP Varanasi is loaded with many experiences. The annual fest is celebrated every year in the month of February in which students takes participation and performs. There are lots of matches of cricket and football happens in college in every 3 month with the other college team. Independence day is also celebrated as a annual fest in the institute in which our MLA comes as chief guest. College is very much supports the green India movement and that is why there are 2- clubs based on the environment. There are also other clubs in the institute i.e. Research club, Dance club and sports club and also Pharma Club. There are many engagement activities happens on the campus like Deep Mahotsav and also Rangoli competition and Also a prize hunt.
