B.Com Admissions at NM College Mumbai

Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai provides a wide range of opportunities for students to connect with teachers and other batch mates, who come from different states of India. Conceptual clarity is provided by the teachers. College administration is supportive and always active. Infrastructure, teaching, and clubs differentiate it from other colleges. For me, the college was like a must for my resume, as it is ranked amongst the top 5 and also provides the best facilities to students. Yes, it was difficult to pursue CA inter with this college as exams are exhausting and it's important to score. If you want to dedicate your full time to B.Com degree only, then it is the best option in Mumbai to go for.

The college accepts students based on the class 12th board exam scores and CUET scores. For B.Com course the CUET scores are neglected and admission is solely based on 12th board scores. College starts by mid- June every academic year. The academics are quite well structured so, that the individual is able to apply textual concepts to real life. But it's on the student how well he grasps the concepts and takes interest in it.

The fee for 1st year is Rs. 12,000. For 2nd year it goes to Rs. 14,000 and slightly increases in the 3rd year. The fee amount has to be paid upfront before the semester starts. Student can approach management through meetings or mails for fee concession, if financial inability is an issue. Scholarships given to students are rare but some students do get it.

Faculty members at NM college, Mumbai are well qualified. They explain concepts through practical examples and illustrations. Students also have an opportunity to work with professors after class, if they join specific clubs who are lead by faculties. Being well qualified, faculty members are able to solve almost all queries and even if all queries are not being solved at once, they approach you when they get time. The teacher student ratio is 1:45. Personally, I love the dedication of the faculties towards teaching and making an impact.

To be honest, placements are not very common in B.Com category, as students with business backgrounds generally pursue B.Com and others do it to get a Bachelor's degree. But yes, placements do take place and highest package goes up to 7 LPA.

College itself does not offer any hostel facilities but students if they wish can select their own residences to live, which are feasible and affordable. However, in areas like Juhu things and resources like renting are expensive.

Infrastructure at NM college, Mumbai is amazing. One gets a big library to study at, a sports room to play after college, and 2 canteens, which serve decent foods & beverages. Transport is also very convenient. Classrooms are spacious with a capacity to accommodate 200 students at once. The college is fully air conditioned and pure drinking water is also available at every floor. Every classroom has digital boards which helps students to understand concepts by videos and graphs. There is a big library as well, which offers more than 500 books on various subjects.

Campus Life is great, as one gets to meet different people coming from different states with different cultures and talents. There are amazing fests like ‘Umang’ and ‘Kshitij’. Events are organized almost every week by different clubs here. My experience at the campus was fabulous, as not only I get to interact with B.Com batch mates but also with Science students who study at Bhagu Bhai College, a college attached to NM College, Mumbai currently. There are a total of 24 clubs to be a part of and every year there are different events held.
