Admission Process for CS Program of DYPIET Pune

I had a great experience in Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Technology aka DIT. Honestly speaking, I did not choose this college. I was allotted this and it is a tier 2 college, though I doubted when I took admission here, I was pleasantly surprised with the sheer effort the college has put into all the factors, say academics, infrastructure, and overall student development. What this institute does differently is, there is a lot of attention focused on research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, leading to include activities such as paper filing, having an entrepreneurial cell etc. This has garnered the crowd many new opportunities and opened doors to a ton of new domains.

I have chosen the course of Computer Engineering for my Bachelors. My motive behind taking up this course was to have a degree in a field so vast that I can find a niche and excel in that. In addition, this branch covers all other fields related to it is which are taught as standalone courses such as AI-DS and IT. The eligibility criterion is quite high for getting into CS branch with a CET score of 97 to 98 percentile. However, if you fit the criteria the process is very much done and easy to get a seat. Coming to the frequency of exams, as the college is affiliated with SPPU (note: there is a new private university coming up). The exams are divided into major two sections in-sem, exams that happed in middle of your semester and end-sem: as the name suggests, at the end of the semester. A very good and appreciated pattern providing students chances to score well.

The standard fee of Rs. 1,17,000 is paid by me. Remember that I am a general category student. With all the reservations and scholarships, fee tends to differentiate from person to person.

This is the most important part of any college review. The faculty members of this college and my department as a whole are all very knowledgeable and grounded. The department & college prioritize to have PhD professors and if not push the professors to have a Doctorate degree to keep them up with the latest trends. The lectures can be said as good revision sessions when you already know the topic or at least have a fair idea about it. The faculty though is very approachable and you can anytime contact them for doubts, any guidance etc.

The training and placement cell of DYPIET Pune is one of the most important aspects of people getting into the college because of its strong legacy. The TNP cell makes sure that there enough number of opportunities for every student and is placed before he/she finishes their degree. To get the results the cell has continuous sessions planned for students training them in fields like coding, aptitude, soft skills etc. to facilitate easy interviews and securing the job of their choice. There are a number of companies who year on year are in taking more students from the college. Companies such as Accenture, Capgemini, Infosys, TCS , Wipro, and HDFC bank.

Compared to other prestigious colleges in Pune, which I have visited, the college has a great infrastructure. It has made sure all the necessities of the students and given them state of the art buildings and infrastructure, even though the campus size is small compared to others. Classrooms containing all the facilities, seminar halls, multiple labs with all updated working systems, auditorium, sports, and all the facilities are available here. With new buildings coming up in the campus, any facility left to describe will surely be integrated.

The campus life is a 10/10. The college crowd here is very diverse. There are students from rural areas of Maharashtra to students from Kashmir. There are many student clubs to be part of according to your personality. I myself am in two clubs, one is TEDX and ACES (Association of Computer Engineering Students). Many extracurricular activities take place organized by the college or faculties or student clubs all the year round. Therefore, there is no dull moment in the campus. There are many fests in the college such as ‘Sanskriti’: the cultural fest, ‘Acunetix’ & ‘Zion: Tech fests, and ‘Parakram’: sports event across two to three weeks. Many other individually organized events. My personal experience in the campus has been great due my participation in almost all the events time it time creating a strong network of people with very different capabilities.
