Guide for Admission in DYPU Navi Mumbai's BDS Course

DY Patil university is a prestigious university to study in. I am glad to be a part of it. Apart from the campus and infrastructure, my reason to pick this university was the high-level education and great quality of knowledge provided here. There is good patient exposure and the teachers really give personal attention to each student to help them excel in their work. The location of the university is super close to Juinagar Railway Station, Nerul Railway Station and LP Bus Stand, hence travelling is easy and comfortable.

The course I am in is Bachelor of Dental surgery (Dentistry). One needs to qualify NEET exam and get 50% in PCB in 12th standard to be eligible for this course. The admission process is through Government website. After filling the form, the college is allotted to you. You just have to submit the required documents, payment has to be done and admission procedure is done. In an academic year we have 2 internal exam followed by prelims and finally university examination. Lecture and practical classes in college are designed in such a way that it really prepares us to manage patients in future.

Per year, we have fees of Rs. 7,75,000. It has to be paid for 4 years. There is no discount provided for any category of students. It is same for everyone.

The faculty in our university is highly qualified. Best quality education is guaranteed. Apart from regular academics, we have many seminars and extra lectures happening in the university. Teaching is done using PPTs, group discussions, mock tests, etc. The lectures are super interactive and the faculty is really friendly and approachable. The number of faculty members is good because we all students get personal attention from the faculty we are appointed under. Teachers always make sure the topic is well understood and even take revision classes whenever needed. They help us out until the very end with every little thing we need!

For Dental university, after our 4 years of degree, we have to do internship in the university itself for a year. The patient flow is good. We get lots of exposure and hands on experience of various clinical cases. There is lots of learning and practicing during this period.

Our university has 2 boys and 2 girl’s hostel in the campus itself. It is just a 2-5 minute walk from the Dental university. Boys and girls hostel are separate. The hostel rooms available are single and double sharing. Each room has a bed, a study table, and a cupboard for each person. Washrooms are there too. The hostels are guarded by security. There is a mess in each hostel, that provides good quality food. The cleanliness is well maintained and thoroughly taken care of by the staff available.

The campus of DY Patil Navi Mumbai is huge! There are many others schools in it such as Engineering, Medicine, Ayurveda, Law, Business, etc. each of these have their own separate building. We have a big campus ground, a stadium and few amazing in-house canteen and cafes. Talking about the dental building in particular, it is a 5 floor building 2 departments on each floor. We have a library, canteen, an auditorium and many lecture halls that are air-conditioned. We have a locker room where each one of us gets one locker. A simulation lab also there and everything is super great and updated with recent technologies.

Campus life is super great! University crowd is very friendly and it is easy to get along with everyone. Around the university, there are malls, clubs and various places and it is easy to reach there. Once a year we have a fest called ‘Matrix’, which lasts for a week, and we do have other functions or fun days during festivals and other holidays. We also have sports week and proper Cricket and Football Premiere Leagues. Participation is open for all and it is amazing because all students and faculty members also take part. There are many concerts by famous artist, matches of football and cricket that take place in the university stadium (we get the opportunity to attend them ). My experience has been amazing! I have had the best days in this university!
