Overall Rating
Overall, Government Polytechnic is a nice place to get your diploma from. It a government organization, has good infrastructure and being developed. Teaching facilities and everything else is nice. Campus environment is good too. I chose this particular institute for my diploma in as it was the only government institution providing this diploma in my city. The difference that I find in this institution is that the course is completed exactly within 2 years excluding 3 months internship whereas in other colleges they take more than 2 years to complete in general.
 

Academics Rating
I want to be Pharmacist that's why I chose this course i.e., Diploma in Pharmacy. The eligibility criterion for this course is passed in 12th with Science. Admission process is very smooth. The course is a 2-year course and each year the institution conducts 3 theory internal exams, 2 practical internal exams, and 1 final theory exam with 1 final practical exam.
As a girl child, the fee of this government college was very affordable. For me, it was Rs. 2,400 per year (for general category). It is quite lesser for other castes such as SC or ST. Various scholarships are also available. In addition to that, as a day scholar, I received Rs. 5,000 for expenses whereas the hostlers received more amounts. Other scholarship facilities were also there for boys and through income card.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members are really nice and cooperative. They used to teach use very effectively and regular classes were taken from 10 AM to 5 PM. Use of blackboard is done and group discussions are conducted. In my department, there were 10 faculty members including 2 practical lab assistants. The interaction was good. They provided timely notes and helped us in preparing for the upcoming exams, although my department was a bit strict but I do not mind being disciplined as it's for our own betterment.
 

Placement Rating
There is a placement cell present at my institute. It actually helps the students to acquire jobs in the industry. Although, the Engineering Diploma students receive comparatively more offers. Placement cell has offered some jobs for the D.Pharm students as well. Lupine and other famous companies such as MedPlus have visited the college. Average package is 3 LPA has been offered and highest goes upto 12 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, the college has residential facilities for both boys and girls. The college's 60% student population resides in the hostel. Boys’ and girls’ hostels are separate. Recreational activities take place for the hostellers such as cleanliness drive, awareness programs, etc. Mess food is average, considering the hostel fee, it's actually great. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided. Girls are not allowed to go outside (except for the classes).
 

Infrastructure Rating
Size of the campus is big and decent as there is greenery all around the campus. The campus's infrastructure is quite good. It has a parking area and playground. 9 courses were offered before whereas 2 new courses are added this year. Classrooms are good and spacious with good ventilation. Library is present. My favorite thing about the college infrastructure is that it has good nice seating area all around the campus with lot of trees, so it feels great to just sit or have a chat with your friends.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus life is good. Many competitions are organized especially 'Polyfest', where both sports and cultural activities occur. During my 2 years course, I participated in the Polyfest both the times and it was fun. Various activities were also conducted by the college such as field visits. I went on 2 field trips one in each year where we used to learn something regarding our course and have fun too. My experience about the campus life was quite good.
