Fees and Scholarships at GLNU Gandhinagar

GNLU Gandhinagar across NLUs I feel, is among the most diverse and inclusive spaces. It is everything that you might be looking forward in your dream Law school. Overall, the past three years here have been an incredible experience. It has taught me a lot. We have a great senior/junior relationship too, and the campus is away from ragging. I chose this university largely because of the less hectic academics there and how it fosters an environment wherein students are allowed to do whatever they want along with studies.

You have to give CLAT, get a decent rank (perhaps among top 500) and you will easily get into GNLU Gandhinagar. I took BSW LLB here, which is Bachelors of Social Work along with LLB. BSW because this is the only university in the entire country that offers such a unique course so a lot of time it helps in interviews and other social places, as BSW is often the conversation starter. Additionally, I believe BSW has light academics so that also helps you to focus more on your Law subjects.

The total fee ranges around 2.5 Lakh to 2.7 Lakh usually. However, in the first year, it is 2.6 Lakh, due to additional admission fee. There is Aditya Birla Scholarship and a merit cum need scholarship available for special categories. We also have a sports quota.

Faculties at GNLU Gandhinagar, like the students, are equally diverse. We have some great professors like Ranita ma'am, who herself is an authority in Law and Economics in India. There are many professors, who are connected to the university since inception. They know how to teach properly and mostly faculties here opt for an interactive class discussion model of teaching. That helps us grasp most of the things in an effective way. As far as approachability is concerned they are pretty okay with students approaching them.

Placement in this university is great. We have an active placement recruitment cell, called the CRA; they majorly navigate the whole thing. Packages range from 12 LPA-22 LPA or more. Top companies and Law firms that hire from here are CAM, SAM, Khaitan & CO, AZB, etc.

We do have residential facilities on our campus, and hostel is livable, nothing very fancy. It is a good experience overall, we get to interact with everyone. Hostel fee is added in your annual total fee itself. Girls and boys have a separate hostels right across the street, mess is great, I can proudly say that GNLU Gandhinagar has one of the best food facilities across Law Schools in India.

Campus is beautiful, we have a big library and everything is well connected. Academic blocks are next to the mess and we have 3 floors. Year wise the classes are arranged there. The campus is located in Gandhinagar, near the gift city. That also gives us a lot of exposure to the companies setting up in the city. Classrooms are smart classrooms with AC and all basic essentials, auditorium is great, and sports wise it is incredible. We have a good gym too; medical centre is also available 24/7.

Campus is quite diverse and vibrant. We always have something or the other happening. In the past 3 years, I have barely seen a weekend where some activities are not happening. You will find all sorts of people in university. There are many clubs under SAC (the student's activity club) like, we have Music Club, Dance Club, Theatre Club, etc. All these clubs conduct their own events, and they also participate in intra university competitions. Annually we have PENTAGRAM, which is our own fest. There is Justice League too, which is the sports fest of GNLU Gandhinagar. People might think that it is space of elite people, but we have people from all walks of life here. it is a great experience to be here.
