Perception of SDDGPI Panchkula’s Learner

Overall Rating
My experience in SDDGPI Panchkula is quite good so far. The institute is good from study perspective and average from activities perspectives many activities are held but not on very high levels still they are fun. The factor, which made me choose this college, is the clean and green campus and the fee structure. The course is very affordable and the college is affiliated to a government university. It would be better if more activities on higher level were held.
 

Academics Rating
I chose Bachelor of Pharmacy as a course from this college. The admission here is based on the merit score of 12th grade. The eligibility criteria are passing 12th grade with Science (medical or non-medical ) and should score more than 60% least. The admission process is simple u meet the councilor and registers for the course, fill the form, and pay the registration fee. The fee upto 2nd sem is taken. Each semester has two sessional exam and one semester exam. The 1st semester is of a very long duration compared to others and may go upto 8 months but the last 2 sem have shorter duration.
The fee structure is that fees are mostly taken semester wise but for the 1st yr whole years fees would be taken. The fee is to be paid online from the site or by cash in the administration office. The yearly fee is around Rs. 66,000 and discounts are provided with scholarships
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty teaching us is good. There are experienced teachers teaching us. Most of the teachers are PhD in Pharmacy and some are Masters of Pharmacy. Method of teaching is mostly based on blackboard or by giving assignments and presentation to students. For every lab, there is one lab assistant and one lab technician and the teacher. A mentor is provided on every 35 students in a class.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, placement drives are held in the college.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostels are average. They are clean but the food is average. Hostel fee is affordable and one room is allotted to 2 students.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus has 10 different blocks like Pharmacy, admin, sports, Dental, etc. Library and common rooms are present in every department. Auditorium and seminar hall are present in dental and B.Tech department only. Sports complex is also present which contains a sports room with different items like carom board, table tennis etc. It also contains of a gym for hostel students. There is a canteen, which is quite affordable with good food.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus life is okay. Many activities are held here almost each month 2 to 3 activities are held sometimes for the whole college sometimes in the department only. Star nights are also held once a while. Fests are also organized every 6 months. In addition, functions are held on different festivals like Diwali, Navratri, Independence Day, Republic Day etc.
