B.Tech's Textile Engineering Branch: NTC Ghaziabad

I am a student at Nitra Technical Campus pursuing B.Tech in Textile Technology. My first year of college is near about its end. My overall experience is good. I chose this particular institute because of the Textile branch offered here, which happens to be the prime branch in terms of significance. If you are interested in Textiles and looking for a course other than CSE then you should take admission. Textile is one of the flourishing industries that have fairly good scope in future as well.

Due to immense competition in other branches, I preferred it as a less congested work field and something new, which is often overlooked. There are no such intricate entry requirements. You should have given JEE Main after your 12th and then are enrolled in AKTU counseling. In order to take admission, you must visit the college on the Physical reporting date assigned by NTA. For local students, you can take admission by visiting the admission cell directly in your preferred branch. You can also take admission through lateral entry by CUET. There are 3 exams held per semester, which includes two sessionals and the final examination. As a textile student myself, I would say you get more exposure and practical knowledge in textile industry as compared to CSE and CSE AIML.

The total tuition fee for B.Tech in any branch is Rs. 81,500. Other than that, you are required to pay the seat-locking fee during AKTU counseling which is later summed up in your tuition fees. Exam fee of around Rs. 7,500 is exclusively paid before University exams once in a year. If you are opting for hostel facility, the amount of almost Rs. 80,000 will be charged for the entire year. The tuition fee for is same for all categories. Also, since it is a government-aided institute, you can receive UP scholarships and financial aid based on your merit.

The faculty here is good, experienced, and qualified from established institutes. Most professors are PhD holders and supportive if you are eager to learn. The teaching style varies from professor to professor, they use PPTs, whiteboard and encourage interactive environment. The faculty is friendly and easy-going; you can approach them anytime you need help. If there are issues regarding hostel, studies or any other, you can directly inform the co-coordinator for the same without hesitation.

For my branch, the placement is good while for other branches it is not as good as the big tech companies are not present. There is in-campus placement for textile students and the highest package was 12 lakh per annum offered by Trident. CSE and CSE AIML students often seek off-campus placements. If you are really goal oriented and have brilliant skills, then you can get the average placement of 6 to 8 Lakh per annum.

If you want to avail hostel facilities, then you can get triple occupancy for girls and boys on first come first serve basis. The rooms are limited so you should consider coming without delay.
Boys’ and Girls’ hostel are separate and a common vegetarian mess. The mess is hygienic and the food is moderately good. Mess food is prepared according to the day. There is no such restriction in hostel. The college gate is closed at 7:30 PM after which no entry is allowed and hostel gate is closed at 10:30 PM after dinner. The rooms are fine, you get a bed, a table, a bookshelf, and an almirah and you can certainly make adjustments with your roommates.

The overall campus infrastructure of Nitra Technical Campus is fine. The campus is spread over 45+ acres of undeveloped land. The campus is just fine for three branches. The environment is pleasing and good because of greenery and open space. Inside the building, there is a huge library with all the academic books, two seminar halls, labs (electrical, electronics, workshop, computer, chemistry, etc.) and all the textile labs.

My overall campus life is good. There is not very huge crowd but you can certainly make friends and make your college life memorable. One thing I dislike here is that people are not too liberal. You cannot expect people to be very friendly, cooperative, and social. The prime events celebrated are Freshers party, Sports fest, and Farewell. However, the college is conducting more activities and events by and by. Recently, a fusion fest was organized by the first year by Coresync, which is a newly established club for events. To conclude with, if you are ready to tackle people and prepared to work on your own for nearly everything, then you should consider coming!
