PGDAV College: Underrated College of University Of Delhi

Overall Rating
It is one of the most underrated colleges in the entire Delhi University, because it has everything you would expect from the other colleges. It has well-experienced faculty and non-faculty staff, and the college has recently upgraded its infrastructure, featuring a large playground, a well-equipped library with a large collection of books and e-resources, as well as a spacious vegetarian canteen. It is located near Lajpat Nagar and has excellent connectivity to other regions of Delhi & NCR. Vinobapuri Metro Station (Pink Line) is just 200 meters away and the Nehru Nagar Bus Stop is hardly 50 to100 meters from the main gate.
 

Academics Rating
PGDAV College Evening offers BA, BA Political Science (Hons.), B.A Hindi (Hons.), BA Sanskrit (Hons.), B.Com, B.Com (Hons.), and B.Sc Mathematics (Hons.) Being a part of Delhi University, it accepts admissions based on CUET-UG scores, and the cutoff remains between 540-630 out of 800. It follows the examination pattern of Delhi University itself, i.e. two semester exams in one academic year. Several societies and clubs are very active and conduct many activities and events.
The fee of my course is Rs. 13,460, and it is paid on an annual basis. Special discounts are provided to the students of Military personnel and other Paramilitary officials. Delhi University also provides scholarships, which cover 100% of the college fee for the entire period of degree.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty of this college is very experienced and professional. If I talk about my course, the faculty is very helpful in providing internships and other opportunities if you are regular in the college and attentive in the class and also the departments of various courses routinely organises educational trips to prominent government institutions and ministries to provide students with well-guided professional exposure in their respective fields which I found very helpful during the course of my college journey.
 

Placement Rating
There is a placement cell in our college, but campus placements are very rare. However, some of my seniors have been placed at highly reputed MNCs on their own. However, we are expecting that the placement cell will become more active soon in the later years.
 

Hostel Rating
Unfortunately, there is no hostel facility available right now in our college. However, there are budget-friendly PGs and flats available near the college.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The PGDAV College Evening recently upgraded its campus with well-equipped infrastructure and other resources. There is a two-level air-conditioned library equipped with Wi-Fi and a large collection of books, as well the easily accessible e-resources. It also has a big auditorium, a very spacious vegetarian canteen with a wide range of menu and tasty items available. This college also has one of the largest playgrounds in Delhi University. It also has Medical room available with all emergency first-aid facilities.
 

Campus Rating
PGDAV College has a good campus life. The crowd is very average, but you will find great people if you join any society or club. Annual fest takes place every year, and every festival celebrated in the college premises is celebrated with enthusiasm. College society offers various activities and roles, which will keep you, engaged and shape you more professionally. Faculty is supportive and during my college days, I have built strong bond with them.

    I’m Alies, student of Bachelor of Commerce (2nd year). Overall college is good. There is no such attendance issue (minimum 40%). environment is also good and all transportation means are nearby college.
