Eligibility and Admission Process for BCA at NIU Greater Noida

My college experience was simple, not much restricted, but a little bit challenging. I picked this place mainly for the low fees in a metro city and the promise of a great campus life, without much insight into the faculty or academic structure. There’s no strict punishment for missing seminars or any other activity like it and generally, few rigid rules. While the faculty is good, the management side is average. I'd rate my satisfaction a 7 out of 10.

I picked Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) to build a solid base for an IT career. Eligibility usually meant 10+2 with 50% marks any medium. The admission process was simple: online or offline application, document check, then pay up. Exams happen regularly, mid-term and end-semester, twice a year, plus practicals. While the curriculum covered the basics, the relaxed environment, combined with limited faculty support, meant actual real-world challenge preparation.

The fee at Noida International University was semester-wise Rs. 36,000 per semester, covering academics, examination and other small charges. They offer various discounts like you could get some based on your 12th marks right at admission for first year and also claim more each year if you consistently scored above 85%. Beyond that, you could claim external government and other scholarships.

The faculty for our BCA course was well-qualified, mostly assistant professors with some full professors. Their teaching largely involved lectures, sometimes on whiteboards, smart boards and PPTs. Their problem-solving abilities were good; they could usually sort out our academic queries. The teacher student ratio was 60 students per 1 teacher. They were accessible for academic help when needed.

NIU Greater Noida does have a placement cell, which is supposed to train students and bring companies to campus. In my view it's good. They did offer helpful things like mock interviews, group discussion and aptitude tests. Generally salary packages for BCA were around 2.5 LPA with the highest package hitting 4.5 LPA.

Noida International University's campus is about 75 acres. We had three blocks for academics, modern buildings, which were mostly well maintained. Classrooms hold 30-80 students comfortably and have smartboards and whiteboards. Academic facilities were good, one main library, 2-3 small libraries and 8 essential computer labs for BCA, plus other specialized labs and seminar halls. We also had a playground, on-campus medical support, transport and reliable Wi-Fi. The canteen food was surprisingly good too. The computer labs, library and strong internet were the real MVPs; they genuinely helped my learning experience.

Overall, campus life has a good vibe, you can hang out with friends pretty much anywhere. The college crowd is incredibly diverse, with 5000+ students from various cities, villages, multiple religions and even foreigners from most countries. There are tons of clubs like Cyber0 club and others club and groups, though I never personally joined any. Engagement activities like workshops, guest lectures and sports tournaments happen on a regular basis. The college also hosts annual events where they invite celebrities or singers.
