Galgotias University MBA Review By Aditya Kumar

Galgotias University is situated on the Yamuna expressway and it is a private university established in year 2011. I joined the university in 2021 at that time Covid was just disappearing from the world so my classes started in offline mode. First semester was good because we got a party for us and some my classmates perform in the function. I choose this university because my colleague was the alumni of this university and he suggested me to take admission. If someone want to excel in their career can pursue MBA from Galgotias and it really worth your time in the university. My college experience was good because I had just qualified the third semester and I got placed in a marketing company on a sales profile. Fee is very high in university for the MBA course which is Rs. 1.5 Lakh for the academics excluding hostel fee.

Master of Business Administration is a business related course and it is post graduation course which means we have to complete our graduation to enroll in this program. To get into Galgotias University one must have done graduation with minimum sixty percent aggregate in the graduation and must have appear in the Galgotias University Management Aptitude Test and one should get rank according to the college cut off to get into the university. After the GUMAT one should go through Group Discussion round and Personal Interview Round to be selected and after all that process we need to submit the fee of 1.5 Lakh before the starting of classes. I get job after my BBA program in a sales company and I done job for one year in online mode because of the corona, My senior in the company told me to go for the MBA. There are four semester in the institute in which exam pattern is generally like aptitude papers.

I have to say that some faculty are good in the university but not all the teachers are good and they are not able to teach us. Many teachers are well qualified and have good experience but they do not know to give the understanding of the topics to the students. All the teachers here in the university are selected through the UGC NET exam and based on the score in the UGC NET teachers apply for the job in the university. Soft skill teachers are good because their style of explaining the topic is different and they have the art of teaching and they are not like the teachers of core subjects. Human Resource Management was my favorite subjects because my teacher in that subject was good and he explained each and every topic with wise. But operation management was not as good because faculty members who taught that subject did not explain the subject well.

I was in MBA Marketing course so there were many opportunities for me in campus recruitment process because majority of companies look for the marketing profile. Some of the profiles that are considered by the companies are Brand Manager, Marketing Manager, and Market Research Analyst and Business Development Trainee. Companies come to the campus in third and fourth semester and we have to one internship every year as per the curriculum. Good companies like Wipro, TCS, Paytm, Byju’s, Jaro, Rajwada etc. visit the campus for various profiles. Average package last year in the School of Business was 6 LPA and Highest package 18 LPA offered by Paytm. But most of the jobs offered are of 4-6 LPA and majority of the students got selected in this range.

Yes hostel facility is available in the university and there are 6 hostels in the university for the boys. Hostel fee is 1 Lakh per year for a three seater room and there are all basic amenities are available in the hostel room like table, chair, almirah, bed, fan, daily cleaning, and cloth cleaning service for the students. Air Conditioned rooms are available in the hostel and but we have to pay extra money for the AC rooms and there are also single room available but charge is high. For a single seater AC room charge is 1.5 Lakh per year. There are many recreational activities that happen in the hostel like rangoli competition in the hostel is still the most memorable competition till now because it was amazing. Room on rent are available outside the campus with affordable price, like we can get a room with mess outside the campus in Rs. 80,000 per year.

There are many blocks in the university but available blocks are huge and they have capacity of having more than 1000 students at a time. There is one academic block for the Galgotias University School of Business and other blocks are available for the various courses since university offer more than 100 course and most of these courses are professional programs. University is new so the architectural design of the university is also modern and beautiful. College area is not big it is just 50 acres and sometimes college feel like it is filled with buildings without much free space in the university. Classrooms in the college are best and very well equipped with all the required facilities. In one class 60 students can sit and it do not feel over crowded. There is a library in each building called departmental library and there is a main library in the institute for all the students.

Fest feels like culture in the university because there are fest in each month and the reason for this is that each department organize their own event apart from the university fest. One inter university fest also happen in the GU and the students of the GU collect fund from the other universities also to organize the big fest. One main fest called launchpad happen each year in February each year and this year and the guest which come will come to the fest are Ashneer Grover, Ankur Warikoo, Piyush Goyal and Karishma Mehta. Other than the fest clubs are also present in the GU and these all clubs are formed by the students. A sports event called SPARDA happen each year in the month of November for the sports activities. College encourages students to participate in the sports tournaments and represent our college team in the event. Life at the GU is vibrant and have lot of joy.
