Student’s Life at DKTE Society’s Textile and Engineering Institute Kolhapur

Overall Rating
Overall this Institute is best as compared to nearby Engineering Institute and it is affordable too. DKTE Society’s Textile and Engineering Institute is the one of the reputed Institute in our area and it’s famous for its Textile Engineering department. Nearby area of the Institute is calm and the environment is good for study. More than 150 alumni are working across the world. The sports department is very supportive for the students as they help students to participate in various district level sports events.
 

Academics Rating
I have chosen Bachelors of Technology in Computer Science because I want to become a Software Developer. The eligibility criteria for this course is minimum 90 percentile in CET or 70 percentile in JEE Main. The admission is done in cap rounds conducted by the Government of Maharashtra. There are three main exams, semester 1 exams, semester 2 exams and semester end exams. The SE1 and SE2 are of 25 marks each and SE3 is of 50 marks. Exams are held strictly.
Now talking about the fees, for General category the tuition fees are Rs. 1,10,000/- annually. For the students who come under special backward categories they have to pay Rs. 17,000/- annually as a tuition fees and lab fee, etc. For each semester the exam fees are different suppose if you are in first year you have to pay Rs. 1,700/- for the semester end examination and if you are in 2nd or 3rd year you have to pay Rs. 2,000/- for semester end examination.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty members are very friendly and they care about their student’s future. Each faculty member has their own way of teaching but the ways they teach each and every student understand it properly. Most of the teachers use PPTs or their own notes for teaching purpose. Some faculty members use black boards and digital screens for making the teaching session more interactive and easy to understand. For every class there is one assigned guardian teacher who looks after the students and reports the parents about their performance.
 

Placement Rating
There is a separate placement cell present in DKTE Society's Textile and Engineering Institute. The placement cell is very helpful to the students for their placement. Daily training sessions are held by the placement cell to improve the skills such as technical and communication skills for better performance in the campus interviews. For training purposes our Institute gets help from sunbeam placement training centre and expert teachers help students to improve their industrial skills.
 

Hostel Rating
The campus has hostel facilities only for girls. The hostel is very safe and all the facilities are available in the hostel. The mess is also available in campus canteen itself and the monthly charges are Rs. 2,500/- per head.
 

Infrastructure Rating
For each department there is separate building. There are big classrooms with the capacity of 60 to 70 students per class. Each classroom have projector for more interactive sessions. The buses are also available for transportation. The labs in this Institute are well equipped and the faculties are more supportive. The rajwada is very beautiful in Ichalkaranji.
 

Campus Rating
The overall campus life is awesome like we love spending time in the campus. There are lots of clubs in each department, they organises different types of events and functions according to the department. In my department there are several clubs like hacker earth, hacker rank, code chief, Microsoft coding club, Google cloud club, etc. There is annual traditional day event organised in our Institute once a year. Students from all the departments participate in traditional day event perform acts, dance, and sing. I think the campus life is best in our Institute.

    I choose Civil Engineering because I have genuine interest in structure and design. My overall experience at campus is good. I like thing about this institute is its location. It is located at center of Ichalkaranji. All transportation facilities are available to reach college.
