RK University Rajkot BPT Fees is Rs. 80,000/- Per Year

My experience at RK University is pretty good. Currently I am in my final year in Physiotherapy Program. Starting from the academic setting, faculties, facilities, labs and recreational activities, all create a pleasurable experience for a student. I Chose this university for the opportunities it provides in terms of research and platform it provides to grow. It was also a convenient location for me to begin with. The fee structure is really affordable and it still provides great education. It has such supportive faculties that guides on both educational and personal level. Also the conferences and fests arranged here are both national and international level which has so many opportunities for students to present their ideas and take it forward to the right people who can truly recognize your potential and help you grow further.

I chose the Physiotherapy field not out of choice but as the next best option. But soon I realized I do not regret it at all. It is actually one of the best decisions I have ever made. The manual approach for healing patients and personally able to play a role in their recovery gives a satisfaction like no other. I get to connect with them on a personal level, which is so great. The eligibility criterion for the admission in this course is minimum 50% aggregate marks in 12th science with PCB group. NEET UG marks are considered for admission but it's not mandatory. Admission consists of ACPC and management quota and the fee structure of both is same. Only additional Rs. 1,000/- is to be paid initially in management quota to secure the seat which is duly refunded once the admission is confirmed. Exams consist of CIE 1 and CIE 2 within each semester. The marking system of CIE 1 is based on assignments and CIE 2 consists of written and practical exams of 20 marks and 50 marks respectively. It is followed by semester end exams in similar context of 100 marks. It prepares you for real life challenges just well. However I personally feel there must be more of a practical approach in teaching and regular clinical postings should be included to prepare students for patient interaction and current methods used in clinical settings.

The fee is to be paid semester wise including Rs. 42,500/- of tuition fees and Rs. 2,500/- of exam fees which makes total of Rs. 80,000/- per year. Students can get themselves registered for scholarship provided for special category students like SC/ST and EWS. Other than that, KS Patel scholarship is available for relieving patients out of their financial burden. These scholarships provide relaxation of around Rs. 25,000/- and some cost deductions in hostel and mess facilities.

There are well educated and highly proficient faculties in my chosen program from various domains including Neurology, Orthopedics, Women's Health, Pediatrics, Kinesiology and Cardiopulmonary Science. The minimum qualification required for a job of assistant professor is Master’s degree in any of the domains mentioned above. Many faculties are currently pursuing their PhD degree while teaching. Methods of teaching include blackboard, PPT explanation through smart boards and also group discussions in practical lectures. Also live demonstrations of different therapeutic techniques and preparing a little act to impart the ideas are encouraged during teaching. All faculties are knowledgeable in their particular domains and are available in person during university hours and online after university hours in order to clear doubts from students. The teacher student ratio is 1:11. All faculty members are really supportive and encourages our growth. They are really humble and extremely forthcoming towards queries of student. They are very open minded and flexible and really understands and make efforts to address the concerns of students.

In medical profession, there are no placement but our university provides us with ample amount of internship opportunities with more than 50 clinics and hospitals across Rajkot. The jobs are based on the individual's skills and their performance during academics and internships.

Our university provides residential facilities as in girls' and boys' hostels. There are 4 different buildings for accommodation of students with capacity of more than 2,500 students. Furnished rooms and laundry service are available. Indoor and outdoor sport facilities available for hostel students. Wi-Fi is available but there are connection problems occasionally. 4 different mess halls with accommodation of more than 500 students are there. 4 times a day provides good food, however food quality could use some improvement. Hostel charges are Rs. 55,000/- per year for non-AC rooms and Rs. 65,000/- per year for AC rooms with mess fees included in overall sum. Hostel rules revolve around anti ragging policies, cleanliness, attendance required for in and out movement in hostels and prohibition of electronic appliances in rooms. Girls hostels requires special permission for any movement after 8 PM.

In school of Physiotherapy, there is presence of main office, staff room, washrooms, Neurology and Kinesiology labs, Cardiopulmonary and research labs, Anatomy lab, smart room and library on ground floor. There are 7 classrooms, Musculoskeletal lab, Electrotherapy lab, staff rooms, Physiology lab and washrooms on first floor. Classrooms vary in sizes and the max accommodation per classroom is 130 students per class. There are smart boards available in each class. State of art gymnasium, libraries, various sitting areas and really good cafeterias are available for students. We have seminar halls and auditoriums in the main campus. Canteen provides variety of food options at affordable range. Sports grounds for various sports including cricket, basketball, volleyball and badminton are available. We have an OPD, which treats patients at minimal cost and provides first aids in emergency cases. We have more than 35 buses for transport across Rajkot. 24 hours surveillance throughout campus is there. My favourite part about my campus is the well-equipped labs that provide us with real life practical skills through various in trend machines.

My overall campus life is quite satisfactory. University crowd is good enough. There are clubs for various sports, music, dance, self-defence, animal friendly, literature and poetry clubs. I am the part of the poetry club and have performed in various events arranged by the club. Engagement activities include event and festival celebrations like Navratri, Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturti, Holi, etc. The university fests including both cultural and sports events, debates and quizzes. There are several student clubs organized for academic purposes as well including parkinsonism clubs and autism clubs where students personally see patients and conducts research on the same. Several conferences are arranged in our university where well known and highly educated speakers come to impart speech and provide us with valuable knowledge through workshops. My experience was great. I learned so much and have grown into a bigger and better person.
