GLIM Chennai Offers PGDM through CAT / XAT / CMAT Exams

GLIM Chennai is one those Institutes who value their motto and culture. I joined this Institute because of its global presence. It also has prestigious AMBA certifications. Here, I was exposed to guest speakers directly from industry, faculty board from top IIMs and what not. The Institute is famous for its PGDM, 1 & 2 year programs. The course curriculum includes weekly case discussions, quizzes to stay updated, healthy in-class debated, case competitions, industry projects, and much more, which will be sufficient to prepare us for real world business problems and develop an analytical bent of mind. It is a trimester course, (one midterm and one end term in all 6 terms). The admission is restricted to only CAT/XAT and CMAT exams. Then it is followed by an interview and WAT (Writing Ability Test). It offers four programs including Finance, Operations, Analytics and Marketing.

The total fees for the PGDM program is 21 Lakh (first year around 10.5 Lakh and second year too, around 10.5 Lakh). This included everything from hostels, mess, tuition fees, to academic resources, etc.

The faculties here have studied from some of the reputed Universities across the globe, including HBS and top IIMs. The teaching methodology includes, daily business case discussions, group discussions, in-class presentations, quizzes, etc. Having extensive exposure to industry, they bring on the table, immense experience of how the global world works and provide us with various valuable resources. The faculty is highly cooperative and always willing to come forward for solving any problems or doubts student face, whether in-class or outside the class.

The Institute has a dedicated placement cell called CCS (Corporate and Career Services) assisted by the Placement Committee which is responsible for the on-boarding of various corporate organisations for placements. The average package offered here is 15 LPA. They also provide various corporate trainings to equip students with the right skills to crack interviews. Weekly guest lectures by corporate leaders is one of the major features of this Institute. Many reputed companies like JP Morgan, Bain, BNY Mellon, GEP, Accenture, Wells Fargo, Deloitte, Nestle, Gartner, Make My Trip, etc. arrive every year for recruitments.

It is a residential program with dedicated separate hostels for both boys and girls. The hygiene in the hostel premises is top-notch, especially the washrooms with daily cleaning done by the staffs. The rooms are triple sharing (for first year) and twin sharing (for second year). There is also a dedicated laundry system and 24/7 Wi-Fi facilities.

The Institute has a state-of-art green campus, consisting of 3 blocks (main academic, Nalanda and ARR blocks) with a centralized open-air amphitheatre. The entire campus has Wi-Fi facilities, with dedicated IT support team and well-equipped medical rooms. The sport facilities includes a gym, table tennis, lawn tennis, basket ball court, pickle ball court, football / cricket ground with all the latest sports equipment. There is also a centralized library, containing a huge collection of books and digital resources.
