Overall Goel Institute of Higher Studies Mahavidyalaya Lucknow has been the right choice for me to pursue my graduation from for various reasons like great campus, excellent academic infrastructure, student oriented approach, ample industry exposure, and the freedom to work while you learn. Students who want to earn along with their degrees can do so by submitting an application for the same. It makes things really easy for working students.

I have chosen BBA and this program is offered by LU (since the Institute is affiliated from University of Lucknow). Entry requirements are- you should have above 50 to 60 percent in Class 12th and if you do not fulfill this criterion, you can also choose to appear for the entrance exam held by the Institute. I had 77% in Class 12th, so I did not appear for the entrance exam. Admission process is simple. You would need basic documents like original Class 12th mark sheet, Class 10th mark sheet, TC, Character Certificate, etc. Both original mark sheets will be returned after 1st semester. There are internal examinations held before the semester exams and we also have UTs. Academics help us to tackle real life challenges by fostering essential skills.

Fee of my course is around Rs. 66,000/- per year but there are discounts based on the percentage scores of students in Class 12th. I had to pay about Rs. 55,000/- only for my first year. This fee is inclusive of the registration fee I paid, which was Rs. 1000/-. My total course fee was approximately Rs. 1,63,000/-. Scholarships are also available for students.

Faculty having so extensive knowledge about their courses. They are well-mannered and sophisticated. The faculty members hold Ph.D degrees and have great experience in their respective fields. Teachers use PPTs, whiteboards and projectors for explanation and also there are frequent group discussions. Students are also given with tasks to present a topic in front of all. There are separate teachers for different subjects. The teachers that teach us change every semester, so it is feasible to say that the teacher student ratio is quite managed. The teachers try to address all of our doubts on time. More attention will be delivered to you if you listen to your teachers during classes and pay attention to their lectures. Faculty focuses on extracurricular as well as practical and industrial skills of the students.

I have no placement experience since I am still in the second year of my degree. The placements are around 70% to 80% but it highly depends on the skills of the individuals. Companies like HCL, TCS, Wipro, Accenture, CEDCOSS, Startek, Niftel, Genpact, and many others visit the Institute. Students need to maintain a good CGPA to get placements.

Yes, residential facilities are provided by the Institute with proper security. Students get proper meals three times a day, including, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. I was not a hosteller.

The Institute has separate buildings for separate courses. The Institute comes under Goel Group of Institutions and has 4 main departments, namely, Goel Institute of Technology and Management (GITM) affiliated to AKTU, Goel Institute of Higher Studies (GIHS) affiliated to LU, Goel institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (GIPS), and Goel Institute of Ayurvedic and Medical Institute (GAMC). There is a lot of parking space available. The classrooms of GIHS are non-AC but the classrooms of GITM have air conditioners. In our department, there are two labs, two libraries, an auditorium and a conference hall is also there. Each department has the afore-mentioned amenities. The canteen is good and serves students with a huge variety of food options at nominal rates. The Institute surrounded by lush greenery and has a huge playground. There is also a hospital in the campus, GAMC, so in case of medical emergencies, immediate support would be provided to the students’ on-campus.

Campus life is good at Goel Institute of Higher Studies Mahavidyalaya Lucknow. The Institute is also crowded but there are no student clubs. There are many events held throughout the year like fresher’s party, dandiya nights, fests, etc. The Institute also sometimes organises music shows, What adds to the overall experience here is the lush green campus which instantly uplifts your mood.
